Last night around midnight I got a massive stitch in my left shoulder. It felt like it was running from my heart down to my elbow on the left side. It is 8am now and the pain is JUST finally going away, meaning I got not sleep. When I bent down the pain would increase until it was hard to breath. I am suppose to be going on vacation for 3 days, leaving this afternoon, and even though the pain is gone, im Afraid it will return. Should I still go see a doctor just to make sure everything is all right? Its on the left side which scares me a tad, due to normally stitchs occur on the right. I am 16, female, average height, average weight. A tad bit out of shape, but I wasn't doing any physical activity when the stitch came.

It could very well be a nerve pinch..that happens to me a lot. Given your age, it more than likely isn't your heart...but if you've been stressed out, I would go with nerve pinch or muscle spasm. They can be very scary. A chiropractor can get rid of that.

YES! Go see a doctor. Don't make the mistake of putting a medical issue aside because of a vacation. Your health should always come before fun. Besides, you can probably see a doctor in the morning and be off to wherever you were planning on going by the afternoon!
