I broke my fibula last Saturday and I am wondering how quick the healing process is. What I'm really looking for is a percentage.

I know I could do 8days divided by56 days(eight weeks) and get a percentage, but I'm wondering if there are other physiological factors that affect that number. Thanks!

I hit my head pretty hard the other day, and I just want to make sure that I don't have a concussion, or need to see a doctor about it.

Last year at work while unloading a truck, a case of Oxy-clean the cleaning agent came off and I lfted it up over my shoulder not know it was damaged, it went all in my eyes and burned my left cornea. I have fine vision but the last few months have been getting severe headaches and pain behind my eyes. Do I have a case if this continues?.....I am in canada so I dont really know the law here for this type of injury

i fell while going down the stairs to my backyard (just two steps) my left elbow landed on the border of the top step, while my lower back hit the border of the lower step. Felt a tingling sensation from the elbow to the lower right side of the palm of my hand and after a couple of minutes there was a bump on this same spot on my hand which is tender and makes my elbow hurt when touched, and it hurts the other way around when I touch my elbow. Just curious what could have caused this bump on the palm of my hand. Did I hurt a nerve? a muscle? Elbow is still sore and hurts some. Cant really manage to grab and hold things on my left hand since it starts shaking and can't really control the strength of the grip... any diagrams or idea of what could have happened here? (I'm on my way to the Dr now.... but I appreciate any comments on the matter)

My husband has had 2 lower spinal fusions as a result of car accident. He is now 55 and wants to sea kayak. He is reasonably fit. My question is - is moderate sea kayaking and the spinal rotation required bad for his back? Or should be just LEARN how to kayak responsibly? In other words, is this even a sport he can contemplate. Any experience out there?

I consider this stage a forum !
Running in a childhood is a natural act where they run around playing, falling etc. It is natural in that sense ! But when we grow up, running should not neccessarily become an activity to be linked to HEALTHY LIVING. The end result of running enthusiast, or a sprinter ( who wants a personal milestone), footballers or hocky players or any running games is INJURIES. Should human be educated to then walk rather then running? Jungle inhibitants, if you see them walking or running they do so with flexed hips and knees. Observe how we run on tracts and gardens? So the art of running naturally NOW is modified with a dangerous HEEL-STRIKE. I thank those of you who have responded to this topic. We need to dwel on it more. Perhaps we could make this changes in the surrounding society. "Stop running & Jogging and Prevnt injuries". Running in children and running in adults have two different mind-sets all together. A wise respons to this is much appreciated.

The dr took off the dressing and the ace bandage finally and put a band aide on it to let it drain more. My question is, why is my elbow area swollen. It was not swollen originally. The cut has stopped draining today and each day I get more range of motion, but I am worried about the swelling. I have another dr appt on Tues and I will def ask about it then, but I was hoping one of you were a dr or nurse and could give me some insight. Originally I thought it was because the ace bandage was tight but now that is it off there is still some swelling. Could the scalple cut (aka minor surgery) be the reason? Just curious. THANKS

My granmothers face started swelling a few weeks ago. it will go away and come back. Now, her chest and arms are swollen down to her fingers. She was admitted to the hospital and they ran all kinds of tests. All the tests came back ok. Her arm had to be wrapped because fluid is seeping out of her pores. The doctors are baffled. The only thing they are telling her is that it may be caused from having 4 cat scans in the past month. It sounds like an excuse to me. They dont really know what is going on. How can cat scans cause all this. If anyone has ever had this problem or heard of such a problem, please let me know. We are all baffled and concerned. Thank you.

Does anybody know how long it takes to heal? I don't care about the pain. I can't go back to work until it heals enough for me to be able to climb a ladder. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi, I want to join my high school cheerleading team next year (I've been cheerleading for about three years) but I have a problem. Whenever I do a toe-touch I end up hurting myself. I'm pretty sure I stretch right and I never had this problem before. Help?

BTW: When I do toe-touches I always pull something or strain a muscle.

Exercises, tips, etc...?

Thanks~

About 3 weeks ago I was bitten by a pet rat, at the time there was lots of blood and some bruising. So I just kept it clean and let it heal up. The other day i noticed the scar had sort of bumped up, and today it really hurts to touch. It's not warm to the touch, it just hurts. Is it worth seeing a doctor about? Or just nothing to worry about?
