I broke my fibula last Saturday and I am wondering how quick the healing process is. What I'm really looking for is a percentage.

I know I could do 8days divided by56 days(eight weeks) and get a percentage, but I'm wondering if there are other physiological factors that affect that number. Thanks!

A broken bone take about six weeks to rejoin but only thing is it should be placed correctly and tied with splinters / plaster of parrys so that it stays intact till it gets joined. Doctors keep you tied for more than 2 to 3 months just to ensure that the bone has regained enough strength so that it does not get fractured once again.

As far as a percentage goes, I wouldn't be able to help you with that, but normally a broken bone takes 6-8 wks to heal. Things that could have an affect on the time frame could include the amount of calcium a person has in his/her body, whether the person suffers from osteoporosis, the number of red blood cells has in his/her body, and whether the person is in generally good health. All of these could affect the amount of time it takes for the bone to heal and how strong the bone is after it shows signs of healing. Hope this helps.
