My 2 yr old knocked himself out yesterday morning when he banged the back of his head. Rang NHS Direct and by this time he was totally fine - running around, singing (10 mins later after initial screaming fit). he was out for at most 5-10 seconds and NHS direct advised that i should just observe him, if i was worried to take him to a+e. He was fine all day yesterday and then this morning i noticed he was having a small nose bleed, nothing major, just a really small nose bleed, (normally i would have not even noticed it and maybe thought he had scratched his nose) - this has now continued all morning and i am really worried it is something to do with yesterday. He is fine in every other respect, singing, talking, moving, playing etc, which is why i haven't taken him to casualty. Does Anyone have any advice????

So here is what happens, everytime i go to juggle my soccer ball, even though i do stretch befor i juggle, i somehow manage to pull something in the very upper part of my leg. I have no idea why, or even how i manage to pull something. And no matter how much i change my juggleing way, i still pull something. I want to continue juggling so i can continue to get better, but i don't want to continue with this pain everyday.
So my main question is this, are there any certain stretches that i could do to help stretch out the muscle up there so i don't pull it everytime. Please somebody help me.

When an elderly lady died in the geriatric ward of a small hospital near
Dundee, Scotland, it was felt that she had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through her meager possessions, they
found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that
copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital. One
nurse took her copy to Ireland. The lady's sole bequest to posterity
has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News Magazine of the
North Ireland Association for Mental Health.

A slide presentation has
also been made based on her simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this little old Scottish lady, with nothing left to give to the
world, is now the author of this "anonymous" poem
... winging across the Internet.
Goes to show that we all leave "some footprints in time."

What do you see, nurses,
what do you see?|
What are you thinking
when you're looking at me?

A crabby old woman,
not very wise,
Uncertain of habit,
with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles her food
and makes no reply
When you say in a loud voice,
"I do wish you'd try!"

Who seems not to notice
the things that you do,
And forever is losing a
stocking or shoe.....

Who, resisting or not,
lets you do as you will,
With bathing and
feeding, the long day to fill....

Is that what you're thinking?
Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse:
you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am
as I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding,
as I eat at your will.

I'm a small child of ten ...
with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters,
who love one another.

A young girl of sixteen,
with wings on her feet,
Dreaming that soon now
a lover she'll meet.

A bride soon at twenty --
my heart gives a leap,
Remembering the vows
that I promised to keep.

At twenty-five now,
I have young of my own,
Who need me to guide, and a
secure happy home.

A woman of thirty,
my young now grown fast,
Bound to each other with
ties that should last.

At forty, my young sons
have grown and are gone,
But my husband's beside me
to see I don't mourn.

At fifty once more,
babies play round my knee,
Again we know children,
my loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me,
my husband is dead;
I look at the future, I
shudder with dread.

For my young are all rearing
young of their own,
And I think of the years
and the love that I've known.

I'm now an old woman ...
and nature is cruel;
'Tis jest to make old age
look like a fool.

The body, it crumbles,
grace and vigor depart,
There is now a stone
where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass
a young girl still dwells,
And now and again
my battered heart swells.

I remember the joys,
I remember the pain,
And I'm loving and living
life over again.

I think of the years .....
all too few, gone too fast,
And accept the stark fact
that nothing can last.

So open your eyes,
nurses, open and see,
Not a crabby old woman;
look closer ... see ME!!

Is my foot broken? On the top of my foot, about an inch from where my ankle meets my foot is a swollen lump. It hurts if a touch it in any way. I can walk on it (unless it is up the stairs), but I cannot put on tennis shoes. There is no discoloration except for slight bruising around my toes. It has been swollen for about 4 days, but I don't want to get an xray unless i absoutely need to.

Last Saturday (1 week ago) i was eating pizza when suddenly i had problems swallowing. I didnt finish my dinner.

I've had the same problem (swallowing) since then, plus added nausea. I've been to the campus doctor, who says it might be a viral infection and gave me non-aspirin stuff. I've been on it for five-six days (missed a few doses cuz hey, couldn't swallow anything) with little change.

He didn't tell me what to do for nausea though. I am going to my normal doctor as soon as i get home, but that wont be until next monday/tuesday.

Any ideas on why i suddenly had trouble swallowing? Any suggestions for home remedies for the nausea? It's hard for me to swallow anything, including liquids, so anything would help.

I mainly get the nausea in the early morning and it lasts for a few hours. I am not pregnant (just had period, on the pill, no bf, etc).

I ave IBS and GERD and take Prevacid.

Afraid to throw up, hate it. Anything to prevent it and cure nausea will help!

I have taken the drug lortab for years and it just is not working anymore. A friend suggested trying the brand name of it, that there is a big difference. (besides the price) Until I find a different alternative, I am really needing to know if brand is the way to go. Like when I buy excedrin generic, it does not work so well. Yet when I buy the brand excedrin, I feel pain relief. So would that apply to prescription meds too??Someone please help me know what to do!!!!

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and have been feeling severe crampings and pains in my inner thighs (right next to the vaginal lip area).

I purchased a pillow to help straighten my pelvic/hip region, but it seems to be getting worse.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there anything I can do to lesson the pain?

I have a physician apt. tomorrow so I will bring it up, but I'd like some advice from others who may understand what's going on.

Now im trying to get back into pitching, and the past few times ive tried it it went well but when i threw as hard as i could i felt a pop as i released it then a grinding sensation afterwards when i shook it out. It doesnt hurt but it kind of strikes me as odd. ( No S***) Does anyone know what this may be, and other than go to a doctor can anyone give me a tip to help?

I developed tendonitis in my arms and quit my job and went to physiotherapy for treatment. It has not fully resolved after 20 treatments but was getting better; however, I have been doing some spring cleaning around the house and yard and the tendonitis has returned in the old as well as new areas of my arms. Wow, is this just aging (I am only 43) or could my poor posture be causing my arms to be more prone to injury? I am going for a massage tomorrow and will ask my RMT; but I wanted some other opinions on this. (I am investigating breast reduction to help with posture issues).

Symptoms:
--Fell asleep in contact lenses that I went swimming in.
--Can not leave my left eye open for too long or I will tear.
--Feels like pebbles in my eye lid and my eye ball hurts.

My dumb doctor insists that I have pink-eye but I know I don't- this is painful and I have no discharge. Eye drops for itchiness or redness does not help... doing it already.

Any recommendations? (other than replacing my careless dr.)
