I can sympathize. Ask the nurse to see if a painkiller has been ordered by your doctor. If not, ask the nurse to call the dr. These pains were bad for me. When I had my first son, the nurse came in, gave me a pill, said it would help my uterus return to normal size. The pains that this pill brought were excruciating. Then, when I asked for pain relief, she brought me a Percocet, as I was not nursing. Then, when it came time to bring in my baby later for his bottle, the nurse would not leave my side. I asked for some privacy, she stated she could not leave me alone with the baby, as I was under the influence of narcotic medication! I refused the next dose of the "uterus shrinking medicine".
Thankfully, this practice is not the same in all countries or hospitals. Ask your nurse what can be done for your postartal pain. Surely they can give you something, unless, of course, you are nursing. If not, I strongly suggest a heating pad.
Bless you and your baby, and congratulations.

Afterpains are sharp abdominal pains that occur in the first few days after childbirth. These are normal uterine contractions that slowly shrink the uterus back to normal size. Afterpains are most noticeable during breast-feeding; breast-feeding triggers the release of oxytocin, which in turn causes the uterus to contract.
You may not have afterpains after your first childbirth. If you do, they aren't likely to be too painful. However, if you have given birth before, you may have sharp afterpains for the first few days after delivery. These pains usually begin to subside by the third day after childbirth
A full bladder can make your afterpains much more noticable. Emptying your bladder every 2-3 hours may help minimize your pains. Be sure to use the bathroom, change your pads if needed and wash your hands before you nurse your baby.
Another helpful technique is lying on your abdomen with a pillow or folded blanket or towel putting pressure on your uterus to keep the uterus well contracted. The first few minutes in this position may be uncomfortable, but then complete relief is usually experienced. Some women find using an ice pack or a hot water bottle to the abdomen instead of a towel can also work well. For women who want to take a pain reliever, some find that taking a dose of acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen with codiene as prescribed by their primary care provider 30-40 minutes before breastfeeding can help to relieve the afterpains.

i'm no longer precisely specific approximately my place in this... i haven't fairly fleshed it out adequate. i assume one factor i could say is that it relies upon on whether or no longer the act could reason suffering if accompanied as a familiar rule. enable's use spitting in somebody's espresso as an occasion. assume people who worked at espresso-properties accompanied the final rule of spitting in the espresso of people they did no longer like. as quickly as people got here upon those rules they could give up paying for espresso at espresso shops. of direction, there is largely minimum suffering encountered via a individual who loses the alternative of having espresso at a espresso homestead. i assume the only suffering if so could be that a individual has to take the attempt to make espresso him/her self. (it could desire to be argued that the type of subject could actual shrink suffering via fact maximum super espresso-shops get their beans from non-sustainable components. i'm ignoring that for now to pay interest on my factor that whether an act would not reason suffering, adopting that act as a familiar rule could.) the main significant factor, whether, is that adopting such an action frequently could improve the full volume of suffering, even however the upward push could be very small. As such, the act could nicely be seen immoral even however the particular act would not reason any suffering. EDIT: I additionally think of it is likewise significant to renowned self-harm as immoral. appearing an action that harms one's self remains increasing the full volume of suffering, whether it would not influence anybody different than the guy doing the action. i could count extensive sort necrophilia as self-harm. (no less than it poses the possibility of harm.) EDIT 2: I additionally trust Novangelis. An action this is meant to reason suffering yet would not additionally counts as immoral.
