I just got an ant bite and I was wondering if there is anything you can put on it to heal or whatever other than neosporin.

My son is an active, healthy 13 yr old. Under both his arms close to the tricep area...he has 2 bruises. The problem is they have been there for quite some time & should have healed by now. What would be the medical reason, if any, why bruises don't heal?

I was in a car accident about a year ago and have been suffering from left shoulder, neck pain, upper and lower back pain and when I start walking my right leg goes numb. Plus the headaches seem to never end. I have seen and been to physio, chiropractor, ortho and neuro specialists and I can't get a proper diagnosis. This pain is getting to me. Any ideas please, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you had surgery on the sacroiliac joint? How was the outcome? How long did the pain last? Was it successful? How long until you were back to full motion? I was told up to 6 full months, is that true? Did you get temporary disability while going through physical therapy? Do they ever remove the screws and what happens if you are alergic to metals on the skin? Will this cause an interior infection?

The Nurosegeon has diagnosed this problem that's causing my pain as I and my physician mistook it for a herniated disk and have read up on some but am very scared about the fusion with screws in the hip.

This is a recent phenomenon. When I sit for long periods at my desk and I get up to walk, it hurts (only my heels), and I have to tread lightly. What's going on?

In 2001 I fractured my spine, shattered my ankles, and had a row of wrist bones removed. I have six bolts holding my back together. Everyday is pain for me. I refrained from asking for pain pills because I was worried of the long term side effects such as sitting in a nursing home at 80, choking on my own flim. Also, it has been hard to get around, so I didn't apply much effort. Also, 2 yrs ago, I needed them and I was rejected because I could bend down and touch my toes. Also, I thought hormones would be cool, cuz I saw the previews to the next Malcom in the Middle, and they seemed to help his physique and other things.

HI,

I do realize that this question has been answered. I have a specific question though. People have said it takes roughly 5 days for nicotine to leave the system and a month for the byproducts of nicotine to leave the system. I haven't had a smoke in 2 weeks. I'm in a contest that tests for nicotice via urine sample after a month of being "smoke free". I plan on smoking rougly a pack this coming Saturday (St. Paddy's Day and i'm Canadian - it's a big drinking and smoking day). My question is, if i haven't smoked for 2 weeks, i then smoke a lot for one day, then stop for 14 days leading up to the end of the smoke-free month, do you think anything will show up in the results? If, for example, a nonsmoker decided to smoke for one day and then had a blood or urine test two weeks after, would anything show up in the results or would it be so miniscule it would appear to be like secondhand smoke?
cheers,
-D

has recently had these small pearly, flesh coloured (almost pale pink!) patches come up on his torso/shoulders...they're not itchy or sore...but there's a lot of them. He didn't even realise they were there! Therefore I don't think it's psoriasis but looks slightly similar.

Any suggestions? I will try to encourage him to go to the GP, but in the meantime, you don't thinks its worth getting worked up about?
