Please has anyone had this and what is it it's a sharp stabbing pain and I really don't think it's gas...

Well if it's on the right side you have to make sure it's not your appendix.

If your back hurts and the pain is muscular and shoots around it could be a pinched nerve.

If it's higher in your back say the top of your hip bone then it could be a kidney stone. If the pain is very sharp and intense you should get it checked out.

Try this. Get a small towel and wet and wring it out good. Microwave it for about a minute or two, put it in a plastic bag and use it as a heating pad on your back. If the pain subsides (muscle/spasm relaxes) it's likely a muscle. Take ibuprofen too while doing this. If it doesn't help any or if the pain is too excruciating to even want to try then I suggest going to the ER where they can do an x-ray or ultrasound.

If you are a woman you have to careful it's not an ovarian cyst. It can cause that kind of excruciating pain too.
