has recently had these small pearly, flesh coloured (almost pale pink!) patches come up on his torso/shoulders...they're not itchy or sore...but there's a lot of them. He didn't even realise they were there! Therefore I don't think it's psoriasis but looks slightly similar.
Any suggestions? I will try to encourage him to go to the GP, but in the meantime, you don't thinks its worth getting worked up about?

There is a name for this but i cant remember it.
Its nothing to worry about and is very common, they usually appear on the upper arms or shoulders. I am not sure if there is a treatment for them but, if left, they will eventually go away on their own, however this could be years.
Best to go to the doctor and get it checked out just in case.

Could be molluscum contagiosum.
"Molluscum contagiosum lesions are flesh-colored, dome-shaped, and pearly in appearance. They are often 1-5 millimeters in diameter, with a dimpled center. They are generally not painful, but they may itch or become irritated. Picking or scratching the bumps may lead to further infection or scarring. In about 10% of the cases, eczema develops around the lesions."
Have him get these checked out, because if they are molluscum they could be contagious. Good luck!

Hi,
It could be psoriasis too cause my friend has it and it appears all over the body. My friend has it on his scalp, back, legs, hands. Dont worry too much about it now. Best thing would be to visit a physician ASAP and find out exactly what it is. It could be a minor thing or major, better to get it checked out.
Thanks.

It could be Vitiligo or leukoderma is a chronic skin condition that causes loss of pigment, resulting in irregular pale patches of skin. The precise cause of vitiligo is complex and not fully understood.

When I was younger my friends and I would often swim in the river. Though we used suntan oil and tanned fairly well, there were little white spots mainly on our shoulders that didn't tan. Turns out they were small parasites in the river. These weren't serious and cleared up after not swimming in their again. Other water borne parasites can be serious.

An ex of mine had them and in the end (because he wasnt one for going to the doctors either) they started tranfering to me, they are contagious for anyone that touches his skin and i went to the doctors about it and was told it was a type of skin virus and will clear up with a simple cream he gave me.
Mine were gone in a matter of days, make him go to the doctors as they will increase to spread and get worse and affect everyone he comes in contact with.
