General Health Care - November 2006

I have a lot of open cuts on my arms that are like paper cuts so of course they aren't deep and I need them to heal a lot faster. I have only had them since yesterday because my kitten had scratched me when trying to climb up my arm from one of our dogs. Yea but anyways does any one have any ideas to make them heal so much faster? Thanks!

I smacked it right where the IV was, and it hurt REALLY REALLY bad. Now there's a HUGE bruise. Should I be concerned?

I have been haveing asever back pain just above the butt crak where the back bone ends it only happens when i sit and try to get up ot run or bend down i feel old and im just 11 my mom says its nothing but now sometimes when i push like if i was going to do number 2 it hurts but only sometimes i had this pain ofr a moth the only thing i rember was streching and mabey poped my back wich felt good but after that my feet had been hurting my left feet i have broken my right arm 2 times completly like reday for operation and my left 1 like not completly but enofe for just a cast and im drinking a milk im sort of likeing it but thats not the point i do have calcium but umm this is embarrasing im not fat but i got a sort of big butt can that be it to ????

my shoulder is giving me grief. when there is pressure on it, it hurts loads and my arm goes tingerly and sometimes my hand goes purple. But when i take pressure off of it my shoulder blade hurts. When i rotate my shoulder it sounds like it grinds and clicks very often. It is like a constant aching pain but sometimes it gets a lot worse. I haven't a clue why this is hurting. I am thinking of going to the doctors but i am not to sure on what they are going to do to help me. Can you diagnose it for me?

.. it has been pierced for about 2 months now..
it was healing fine, but for the past few days, its been a bit problematic..
usually, i am quite aware about my piercings.. and things that go wrong, but this one, its a bit different..
anyways..
ever the past few days.. there has been mild bleeding and swelling.. and it stings.. just a bit though..
i have been cleaning it regularly.. but still, i can use some advice on re-healing it..

If you fracture your skull and the doctor tell you that the bleeding as stop, are you out of damage from it starting back again? He fell backward on the street playing football with his kids last week.
My step son age 40 fracture his skull and he is still have severe pain. They kept his overnight, released him with several medications. A couple of days later he went back because the pain has not stopped, it is worst. They gave him some new medications and said that it will take time for the pain to go away. He said that when he lays down it is the worse. Seating up is better, and standing up the pain seem to ease up. They gave him some warning signs if the bleeding start back, i.e. blurred vision, vomitting, diahera, etc.
I think that he should still be in the hospital until he feels normal. What are the warning signs that he should be back in the hospital, they live forty miles from the closest hospital.

I apparently have an infection on the ring finger of my left hand, in a cut almost an inch long which I got from a nail. I have had it for about half a week. Despite dowsing it in peroxide and neosporin, it's still there, and doesn't appear to be getting any better.

What I originally thought was a scab formed over it early on. I believe it is actually dried puss, as it is yellow, is depressed in the skin instead of raised, and when I put peroxide or neosporin on it, it softens into a mucus-like substance. I tried removing it when it was soft, but it won't come out, and I don't want to forcebly pull it out since I'm not a doctor or anything and don't know what I'm doing :p

The infected area is sore, and I'm starting to become a bit concerned. Any suggestions, especially ones that are proven effective, would be much appreciated. Thank you to the answerers, and God bless you all!

In wrestling practice, i felt like two cracks. it felt like i cracked my ankle or something. it just felt like when you crack your fingers. But now it is swollen outside. And when i try to bend it forward, it feels like i can crack it but it would hurt. what do you guys think. i iced and i can walk limping. is it just sprained or something else??

I've wondered about this for a long time. No one in my family is a smoker, but my really cool guy cousins like to gather around (sort of a manly bonding time) and smoke cigars on the holidays. They also have a light beer or two. But that's irrelevant to my question.
I have always wondered if cigars or cigarrettes are worse for your body altogether, because my dad said it'd be okay if I got to smoke a cigar this holiday, (they smell really good.) I'm also considering buying a pack when I'm 21, and maybe using one every month or so. I never want it to be a regular, daily habit, but I also don't want to die from like lung cancer because of a smoke every month or two. Honest, gentle answers, please!

im going in today to get my eyes checked and to try contacts again. I tried them a few years ago and the doc i went to wasnt real helpful on switching to a brand that was more comfortable for my eyes, so i stopped wearing them. Can someone suggest a brand of contacts for eyes that need lots of air, and are dry out easy.

i want to put lotin on it to make my skin there softer so when i move my arm it wont rip the scap off and make it start bleeding agian

this is simply out of curiousity but I'm not sure how to explain this cause its weird. For some reason, I can make my eyes dilate whenever I want to, which makes me be able to see things clearer or blurrier whenever I want. And when I'm underwater I can make my pupils dilate to where I can see really good too. what exactly am I doing and how am I able to do this?
