im going in today to get my eyes checked and to try contacts again. I tried them a few years ago and the doc i went to wasnt real helpful on switching to a brand that was more comfortable for my eyes, so i stopped wearing them. Can someone suggest a brand of contacts for eyes that need lots of air, and are dry out easy.

I work in an optometry office, and there have been a few new brands of contacts added recently that are said to increase oxygen and moisture to the eye. Acuve Advance and Oasys are used in the office. Purevision seems to work well in most, but one patient had an allergic reaction to the material. Some patients cannot tell the difference between the "new" contacts and the originals. It is most important that the optometrist does a thorough fitting to ensure the contact is the safest and best fit, not moving around or rubbing. Make sure you return for a follow up appointment after you've been wearing the contacts for about a week to make sure the fit is safe and comfortable.
Additional tips: always clean as directed, and use contact-safe rewetting drops (available at the drugstore) to add moisture during the day as needed.
Good luck and have a great Thanksgiving!

Acuvue Oasys is a good one, but there are several brands that offer contact lenses for dry eyes. Check the link below for a few. If you have specific questions, give Frames Direct a call. Their operators are actual opticians, not just people who answer the phone. They can advise you.

Try the new silicone lenses, acuvue advance, oasys, there are a lot of new extended wear lenses out. Make sure to try and limit your wear time to 12-14 hours/day max, and clean your lenses well even if the bottle says no rub solution. Also, try not to stretch out the wear time of your lenses, ex-if they are 2 week replacement lenses, don't wear them for 2 months!

Acuvue has a new brand out that is supposed to be real easy on the eyes, they let more oxygen in and keep your eye hydrated. They are called ACUVUE OASYS, my eye doctor recommended I get them when my current prescription runs out.

Acuvue could be superb, and then Freshlook. In some places that carry Acuvue, they have slightly turn-e book element, and it has an element for brown eyes, and it shows diffused variations, and dramatic variations. It tells you the desirable shade you will possibly desire to get, and till now and after photos. you will possibly desire to even pass to the acuvue internet site, and it will practice you the comparable element there.
