General Health Care - June 2006

I am really becoming immune to ibuprofen and acetometaphine and up to 2500 mg each dose. any suggestions would be really helpful!!

I have been taking an antibiotic for two days now but there seem to be no improvement. I am just wondering if this is the wrong medicine for my problem, or it just takes some time for it to take effect.
Would appreciate responses from MD or based on similar experience..

I was boxing with my friend and he got me in the ear....now it feels weird but i can still hear. Usually before this problem when i plug my nose and blow out with my nose, my ear would just pop easily...now when i do it, i hear shhhh noises..what can i do? and OTC or prescription?

...this happens everyday but some are not as severe but, everyday I have a headache. Also sometimes I hear a ringing in my ear what could this be. I have tried motrin, alieve anything you name it. I talked to my doctor and he just gave me advil and that didn't help I need some advice on how to get rid of them and what could they be.

I couldn't kick the ball back to my daughter as I had flip flops on, so I hit it voleyball style. Unfortunately, I missed my palm & used only my wrist to hit it.

Straight away a lump formed on my wrist and by god it hurt. My vein fekt like it was gonna pop out!!!

It is not broke as I can move all my fingers and type without any problems. It hurts when I try to grip things and the lump has not gone down. It is strated to bruise and I have a tingling sensation down the left side of my wrist.

I don't want to wait in A&E for 5 hours as it will be full of drunk football fans & sunburnt kids.

Any idea of what I could have done?

I ask this because I just recently started taking vitamins. I take daily vitamins and then I am also taking extra vitamin C and E among others. Is there a risk of doing some thing wrong since I would think a daily vitamin would have enough C to start with. Understandably I could be fine eating 1 orange or 10 and not have any side affects... but I almost never take pills or vitamins so I am not sure what would happen.

With what little knowledge I have of them is what you do not use gets "washed" away. So how much do I know my body is suppose to absorb and how much I am just wasting?

Also if I take vitamins to feel better in daily life... does that mean my body becomes addicted to them to function as good? I do not mean having withdraws as if I were an alcoholic or smoker etc, just that my body depends on having so much vitamin to function as good as it was. In other words if I start taking Ginseng does my body from now on depend on it to feel as "peppy".
