A lot of people had and they regret. The best treatment is walk and physiotherapy. The disc herniates due to several reasons, the most imprtant being the relaxed muscles which can not hold the disc in place. So please gradually start walking and ncreas the distance and duration and speed if you can.

I recently saw a medical program regarding back injuries and surgery. They said that the majority of patients that went the physical therapy route did much better, i.e., no stress and possible complications from surgery and a higher success rate.

My mom had a slipped disc years ago and chose no surgery. It was a wise choice, she recovered well and you would not believe she ever had a back problem given what she does.

Don't see any rationale why no longer. I'm certain you got bodily medication sports to do, so be certain to do the ones religiously (I've been there and performed that - PT is major, do not blow it off considering it is "rough" or "inconvenient" or "uncomfortable"). Eventually you're going to get your force and versatility again - usually through the top of the summer time, even. Look into approaches of doing matters that diminish the stress for your again. Raised beds and box gardening are well strategies.

I've had surgery on both my low back and my neck. Excellent results.

One suggestion, if you do decide to explore the possibility of surgery, I'd suggest a neurosurgeon, rather than an orthopedic surgeon.
