No! I'm actually very sorry to say this but the UK have no idea how to run such a system, and yet the concept is fantastic, medical treatment equally available for all, regardless of individual wealth or circumstance !
The government ( that is any UK government not any particular political party) thinks the way to sort things out is to throw loads of money at the problem, then sit back and see what happens!!
It will really be a great shame, but you will go the same way as America, medical treatment quality will depend upon personal wealth.
Not much of a prospect to look forward to is it??
And I forecast this will happen long before 20 years go by!

Yes we will still have an NHS, It would be political suicide for any government to get rid of it.
However whether it will be recognisable is another matter. More and more treatment will become available for those who can pay and The NHS will become even more of a second rate service than it is now.

Sad to say but i don't think we will. There may be something resembling what once was but it will be for the very poor or destitute only. Private health care will be the norm and for those who cant afford it, see above! Abuse, abuse and more abuse of what was the envy of the world at one time, shame on all the successive governments that have contributed to the downfall of the NHS. Sums up the UK today.

Unfortunately our NHS has been abused. The expenditure has been wasted on people who just couldn't be bothered to go to their own doctors.
Too many drunks have wasted health care professionals' time every weekend & summer.
Too many management, not enough nurses, doctors etc.
Workers in the NHS do a brillaint job to the best of their capabilities, but they don't have enough help, equipment, support & facilities to be able to treat everyone.
I think we will still have a free health service, but there has to be extreme changes for it to be successful.

Not the way NHS trust directors are spending money we won't. Its such a shame when all the greedy buggers at the top are swallowing all this cash that should be ploughed into better healthcare

I think that only the richer people will be able to afford healthcare or those in good jobs who have medical insurance, the rest of us will have to make do with the type of healthcare we can get probably through charities or cheap medicines of a low standard

Maybe, maybe not, i think though that we will go the way other countries do, totally private and everyone will have health insurance, at least that would eradicate national insurance, though Im sure the government would find another form of tax to take its place
