General Health Care - June 2006

I know it would hurt to rip it off, but apart from that would it make it not heal as well or more likely for there to be a scar or anything like that?

I've run into the problem that there's no where on my arm I can cut that I can put a plaster over without the sticky part being on another cut from a few days ago. Telling me not to cut isn't going to do any good right now, I just need to know how to bandage it after.

I've been having a horrible time falling asleep lately. I've started exercising more and eating better in hopes that this will help, but I also purchased some Sominex just to make the transition a little bit easier. So, I'd like to know how long Sominex is effective for. If I take a pill and wait an hour before I go to sleep, will the effectiveness wear off?

i burned my hand on my grill- its pretty minor. (i was lighting it- and my hand was close- it was a gas grill) i ran cold cold water over it and put some neusporin on it. i would like some remides that help clean it and kill the pain- its a little red but its doing better

I had it real bad in November and went on Worker's Comp. for 2 weeks before the meds (Naproxen - an anti-inflammatory) started working. Since then I have occasional pain and have to wear my brace for some of my work requirements. Does anyone have a complete cure to keep it from recurring?

I was cleaning and all of a sudden in the left corner of my left eye I started to see double & blurred. I sat down cleaned my eyes with water to see if it went away. I did'nt I can look straight ahead with no prob. But when I turn to my right I can not see clearly out of my left eye. As I layed down to see if it went away I started to get a migrance like headache above my right eye and feeling like vomiting.

Really Need to hear some real answers since I have no type of health insurance and cant see a doctor...Is this serious or will it go away?

One of the pharmacies that I use sent my primary care physician a list of all pain medicines I have gotten from a number of doctors. Some were not controlled substances. But I was not doctor shopping but was sent to around 10 different doctors to try and diagnose my problem, and each one of those doctors gave me a pain killer. Now my primary doctor refuses to give me any medicine what so ever. Is this legal?

My throat is killing me. It's hurting when I swallow, turn my head, etc. It feels like someone has their hands around my neck and is squeezing so that I can't breathe...or another analogy--like it's coated with peanut butter and there's a lump at the bottom...very 'thick' like. I haven't eaten anything I'm allergic to and don't suffer from allergies. Tylenol lessens the pain, but it's now gotten bad enough that i can't swallow the pill. My hubby still thinks it's allergies. HELP!

I'm trying to understand smoker's minds when it comes to their behaviours. My kid's grandma(hubby's mom) was a heavy smoker and died because of it (cancer).
When she stayed with us I was very strongly against her smoking in the house (my son has asthma)
Yet she would complain/suggest different health concerns about my kids and I was supposed to agree with her, while she smoked inside and thought nothing about the health risks to my kids. Is this because of the 'drug'like effect tobacco had on her? Why was she so hypocritcal?

My niece just got bit by something, but we can't tell what it would have been. The bite looks like a small red circle underneath the skin and it is swelling extremely quickly. She has ice on it now, but I was just wondering what bit her. She is not having an allergic reaction--no tongue swelling or anything like that. Other than the bite pain, she is ok.

I have pewterware that I got instead of silverware when I got marrried. It is rarely used. Rather than waiting for a holiday I thought it would be good to use it daily. My husband voiced some concern about the lead content. Does any one know if it is harmful?

the big toes in my feet hurt and they changed color just a bit i think the toenails are damaged from when i played soccer once. cause since then it has gotten worse.
i think the toenails are growing inside the toe and are causing the pain
