Pure aloe. Also any type of burn relief used for sunburn, it has lidocaine in it for the pain and will help it stay clean. You can cover it with a bandaid to ensure that it stays clean. Don't put butter on it, that just adds fuel to the fire, so to speak. Toothpaste also helps (just make sure it isn't cinnamon flavored. Sensodyne is the best to use for burns, bites, and the itching since it is for sensitive teeth).

First off, you don't say if the burn is open, or seeping at all. If it is open, go to teh doctor and they will give you something for it. IF it isn't open, try putting an aloe vera gel on it that has lidocane in it. Walgreens carries it and it's blue. I burnt my hane very badly last October and when I went to the ER, they gave me Silidine ointment. Worked wonders. To prevent scarring and also to keep it moisturized, use cocoa butter, or a lotion w/ vitamin E. Good luck.

You can use a topical pain relieving spray containing benzocaine. Taking Aleve apparently works well with burn pain.
Don't put anything on it, like butter or petroleum jelly; this will only cut off the air that is necessary for healing.

Everybody should keep Lavender Essential Oil in their First Aid kits. Lavender is great for burns. You will be amazed at how quickly a burn will heal by putting Lavender on it. And the scarring is drastically reduced as well. Look it up on the internet!!
Hope this helps!
