General Health Care - June 2006

I was eating trail mix, i noticed what felt like powder in my mouth, then i felt them cralwing on my face, i looked at my shirt and it had hundreds of tiny (berly visable) red ants. I freaked ou, then i noticed they was in my trail mix, I dont know how many i ate, hundreds, I imeditly took a shower after spitting the food (and ants) all over my room. I can still feal them crawing all over me. What shuld i do, by the way i have always ben severly afraid of ants. I cant evin think strate. I just keep shivering and i gag every now and then, what shuld i do, i alredy spraid bleach on my floor and my shirt. would that kill ants, im really scared of ants. will they mess up my stomac?

My tail bones hurts like hell, I didn't fall or hurt it in any way. I think the cause of it might be me sitting down for hours on end and taking tests. I went to my doctor and I got x-rays, they found nothing so I was told to ice it. It isn't working that well, just makes my butt cold. When I stand up I hurts sometimes, when I sit down in a chair my tail bone feel uncomfortable, and when I sneeze it hurts alot. What is wrong?

...you go to bed late. I know that you are suppose to get at least 8 hours of sleep but lets say u go to bed at 2 in the morning and wake up 8to 10 hours later. Is it still effective like it would be if you went to bed at 9 or 10? If u r confused about my question feel free to contact me. Thanx!

well, six weeks ago, coming up seven I sprained my ankle at netball and ever since I have been playing netball but it really hurts and you know how the swelling supposed to have gone after one week, well my ankle is still as swollen as it was when I did it, my mum said that its not because I have been playing netball on it (she is a nurse) so she should know. and I went to the doctors and they said that was nothing wrong with it and I doubt it, this was 5 weeks ago, what can I do to stop the swelling its really bugging me so yeah, and my netball coach who is the same age as me has been pressuring me to stop playing till its better, but then we wont have enough people on our team to play. And I play competitively so I can’t just not play. and I have been wearing an ankle brace, since I did it and it hasn't helped and it is like the best one on the market, so you think I should stop playing or go back to the doctors and stuff like that because, right now I am really confused. Help me!!

Today, I went to get a daily check-up at the doctors office and to find out if im bi-polar or not... and they wanted to get some bloodwork from me since i havent given any for like 2 years..so anyways as she took the blood, two little tubes out... i started to get dizzy, i started to heat up,nurse noticed that my lips were going pale and that i was sweating... and iwas also sitting...i couldn't breath normally also...felt like i was bout to hyperventilate,and i wanted to puke but couldnt cause nothing would come up... so my gf and the nurse started fanning me and it was barely helping at all..and then i started to see everything get brighter and then back to focus then brighter....JUST over getting some blood out of me...

im 19 year old..pretty good shape..havnt been to doctor in 2 years up till this visit...
anything wrong here???

how do I quit smoking if I know I NEED to but dont 100% WANT to. I know you have to want to quit and part of me does for more then just my health... but part of me dont too.. or at least i think i dont. maybe its just that i dont think i can or something.. anybody ever went thru the quitting smoking deal??

I've recently been diagnosed with degenerative spine disease. I was diagnosed to have three bulging discs in my lower spine (lumbar.) I've since herniated one or more discs over the past week and my Doctor took me off Vicodin and put me on Morphine. Needless to say the pain has significantly decreased, and the side effects are mild. The spine specialist suggested surgery only as a last resort. She said it might not help at all and could possibly make it worse. The question is, should I have the triple disc replacement or should I remain as I am. Slowly but most definitely becoming hooked on the Morphine for an indefinite amount of time?

My Mom was diagnosed with Shingles 15 months ago. The Shingles attacked her nervous system, and she now has been experiencing pain for the past year. She was diagnosed with PHN, (Post Hepetic Neurolga), and the pain will not diminish even after pain blocks, and many pain meds. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to get rid of her pain? She has tried all of the "pain creams", and they don't help either. Her Doctor says it just has to run it's course, but she is in terrible pain every single day. Can someone please help? Thank You!

if you're an allergy expert this is my question:
-everyday after i eat dinner i have hives that scratch all over my body.
-it only happens after dinner.
-it happens like 5 minutes after dinner.
-cortisol creams don't calm it, benedrol pills work.
