but I want to take a shower now. Is it really dangerous to take one?

I agree with Native Texan on this one. I have always been told my whole life by my elders that it will travel thru the plumbing. And yes, you should shut down and unplug your computer...even if you have a surge protector, it is not a 100% guarantee..

Yes it is fine to take a shower. The only thing is you might want to light a few candles just in case you lose electricity. Nothing worse than having shampoo in your hair and the lights go out. Other than that, it is fine.

I wouldn't take a shower. Electricity can travel through water, and also, the pipes to get to your house are obviously metal.

yes it is. lightning can strike your house and the plumbing can carry the current right to you in the shower
