Gasping for air!?
Please somebody help me! i've just turned 17 and these last few days i have been having real trouble breathing. Its like i have to really have a good Yawn to get a decent lungful of air and im scared. I hate doctors and hospitals , they frighten me :(.
I try and ignore it , sometimes it works if i am really concentrating on talking to my boyfriend on the phone or watching a movie.. excercising just makes my heart really beat fast! and after a while seems to make it worse. I'm really hoping someone can relate to this and im hoping it's just athsma or something i can manage.. Please help!!

The coughing is intentional
I have ear and throat related sinuses all the time.
when i was a kid i was checked by an otorinolaringologist and he told me that I had some glands in my ear that were swollen and had to operate, even though I never did.

i cough a LOT. its like an itch in my throat then i end up coughing a lot and sometimes to the point that i almost gag and cough up a lot of water or what seems to be. its not thick like phlemg. anyways it happens when im all congested. sometimes i cant breath at all thru my nostrils and cant sleep unless i have the air conditioner on. i seem to be always blowing my nose, how fast does mucus produce cause i have sooo much. anyways i work in a factory and breath in plastic fumes all the time. so what im asking is why am i gagging then coughing a large amount of "water" and why am i getting an itch in throat all the time

I work at a business that keeps open containers of on road, off road diesel, and regular gas, they do not have the containers closed. You can smell fumes and I wonder what kind of damage I could be doing to my body by inhaling these fumes 9 hours a day 5 days a week. I have had several bouts of bronchitus, and pneumonia since working here and wonder if this could be the culprit. Also I have to now have a CT scan done because I have enlarged lymph nodes in my lung area.

This has been happening for years, but I've never been concerned about it. Sometimes when I take a breath, I get a sharp, localized pain in one of my lungs. It feels as if one of my alvioli is stretching (as if it didn't release the air from the previous breath). I'm not the only one who has experienced this. What actually causes this? Since it happens average twice a week, should I be concerned? For my girlfriends mother - is it genetic?

what would your decision be if a COPD patient suffered from smoke inhalation? i know that for a regular person, you would put the patient on a 100% non-rebreather (if there is no hyperbaric chamber around). but in my head, im still debating on what to prioritize when it comes to COPD. if we put the patient on 100%, this can trigger hypoventilation because of air-trapping, but if we don't put them on 100%, he can suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning.

what would your decision be? in school, i was taught that ventilation comes first before oxygenation. i just thought this topic is worth debating about... it's acute versus chronic.

In the past I have gotten "sample" inhalers, they are red with a white cap and they are terrible. I don't use them unless I have no choice, instead I would pay the $10 and get a good one from the pharmacy. What I did not know, these two inhalers have the same medicine in them but the propellant is different. The good ones uses (sp?)florocarobons to push the medicine down into your lungs where it can do you some good, the other one does not.

So when I went to get my "good" inhaler refilled imagine my suprise to find that they will no longer be making them because of the (sp?)florocarbons and now you can only get the crappy red ones.

THE RED ONES DO NOT WORK! THEY JUST SPIT THE MEDICINE INTO YOUR MOUTH! HOW MUCH DAMAGE TO THE OZONE COULD AN INHALER DO? (consider that there is a huge display of Aqua Net right next to the pharmacy)

And to top all of this off, the new worthless inhaler costs $33, so triple the price for crappy meds.

THANKS SO MUCH ALGORE YOU STUPID GIT!
