my left nostril has a great big red lump on the middle central section quite far back up my nose.ive never seen it there before.it is bright red .im very scared i can hardly type.what the hell is it?now i know its there im consious it is sore.what if it is dangerous.has anyone had this before?please let me know.im 34 woman.

Sounds like you need to see a physician, especially if the pain and sweling persist. Also, if you develop a fever see an MD immediately as it could be an infection that will require an antibiotic. Don't play around with infections as they can worsen, especially a staph infection (the worst being a MRSA infection (a staph infection that is quite resistant to many antibiotics and needs to be treated quickly). I have had 2 MRSA infections in the past and they are horrendous. Do not pick at it or touch it, either. Hopefully, it is not an infection but, please listen to all the posters here and see your doctor if it stays the same or worsens.

For your age group it may be a nasal polyp!! If you nose bleeds lately, it is most likely a nasal polyp!. Other than that the "red thing" needs to be seen with a rhinoscope to tell for sure!! Go see an EENT specialist!

It could be an in growing hair which can be quite painful. Go and see the nurse or doctor to put your mind at ease.

It sounds like it might be a Nasal Staphylococcus infection. You will need Rx for antibiotics soon.

it is probably a spot and the more you play with it the worse it will become,it sounds quite big i have had a little one just inside my nose and it really hurt and if i tried to touch it i got tears to my eyes sound familiar if so just leave it and it will go

Sounds like a polyp which are just gisly growths. Suggest you see your GP who will be able to arrange for it to be removed for you.
