On Oct 18th I went to the hospital with bad stomach pain - tunred out I had pancreatitis. I must have caught a bug tthere because I got sick a few days later. Went to the docs and got a 10 day dose of antibiotics which did nothing (sinus infection). It then moved to my chest and I was coughing up thick green musous and caled the docs. I had a low fever, tightness of the chest and cough. They said the antibiotic must not have been hitting the right spot and called me in a 5 day prescription of Levaquin. I was feeling better but still coughing up stuff so called the docs badk. They said that is normal and to get on with normal activity. Have been done with the Levaquin for 3 days but still have this tickle in the back of my throat and a cough that sometimes is dry and sometime productive. Sometimes I have a tghtness and sometimes I don't. I also have really bad pains on both of my sides from coughing so bad. I think I injured my muscles as it is not like pluerisy. HELP!!!

My son is almost 2.Has had asthma since birth.First year of his lfe was real bad for him.Several admissions to the hospital with all types of lung infections. This past year has been better but still alot of colds flaring up his asthma. He is on albuterol inhaler with a spacer for emergency medicine.Probaly will end up at doctors in the morning or ER tonight if he worsens. He needs his steroids and probaly antibiotics.Does anyone know if he can take anything other then his tylenol and albuterol tonight?Last I knew he could not but my friends doc put her girl on robentussin and she is 3 with asthma. Also I`ve heard from alot including doctors to let him go in steam filled bathroom to loosen the flem.I read on the internet not to allow a child with asthma to breath in steam.Anyone know which it is?

When arteries and veins come together, in between comes capillaries. The capillaries give the oxygen to the body tissues. When the pulmonary vein and the pulmonary artery come together they form on the alveoli. So are there capillaries on the alveoli too? Since I thought that the capillaries was thin enough so that it could take oxygen from the lungs all by itself. But instead the alveoli does that job. Is the alveoli some sort of super capillarie?

so that may seem stupid, but I HATE my inhaler, and I was given trials of singulair that worked amazingly, but of course insurance won't pay. So now I'm supposed to use an inhaler twice a day, and my fast acting inhaler when i work out...but why? when I do have an attack, I can eventually start to breathe normally on my own, even a really bad one. I might wheeze for a couple of days, or cough for awhile but it goes away. Is this dangerous? Am I causing damage? just curious, cause I really don't want to use a new inhaler, and most likely won't.

Is there something to help with this until I can get to the doctor. I think I may have asthma. Its worse some days then others. Today is really bad. I feel like there is something really heavy sitting on my chest. Its hard to inhale. I feel like I can't get enough air. I have to work to breath. What could this be? Asthma or what? What can I do for this until I see the doctor?

My husband smokes and here lately, I have been worried about him. He has this persistent cough that sounds as if it hurts but when I ask him about it he either tells me that he is okay or makes a little snide remark about how I am overacting. He knows that I hate him smoking and that my Grandfather had lung cancer and emphysima. He also has two children that really need him and I am just scared that this cough could be something more serious. Can anyone out there help me?

My 5 year old son's doctor said his left side is completely blocked and the right side is half blocked. His only symptom is a cough. She prescribed him Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium (all one bottle). Past meds for the cough we have been trying to treat for 4 months now are Zyrtec, Qvar, Singulair, some kind of liquid steroid he took for 3 days, Allbuterol and the last time was a pink antiobiotic he took for 3 days but I can't remember the name. NOTHING has helped the cough which is why she did the cat scan. I just can't see him having this bad of a sinus infection with absolutely no pain. His cough is dry and non productive...sounds deep. Excuse the mis-spelled words please, I'm tired and don't feel like checking them.

One year ago I was told I have beginning stages of emphysema. I have been feeling good and haven't seemed to advanced at all. How long can that last, I have checked many sites but don't find that kind of answer. Can this disease really just go into remission? Any info. on this would be appreciated. I don't even take any medicine like I did at the beginning. Just one puff of advair each night. If you have this disease maybe you can give me some tips.

I have had a cat scan of my lungs, echocardiogram, chemical stress test, pulmonary function test. All tests have shown to be normal. I am unable to sing at church without getting short of breath, a headache and very tired. I get short of breath and pain if i try to walk at a normal pace for me or faster. I'm even getting tired sitting here and typing this question. Anyone with some insight to this would be greatly appreciated
