I wouldn't say it is "just as harmful," because there are similarities and differences. No matter what kind of smoke it is, it's no good for your lungs. Cigarettes, however, leave tar and nasty stuff in your lungs. Weed leaves a residue, but not as much... unless you smoke a whole lot of weed! Anyway, cigarettes cause more physical damage to a person's body, whereas marijuana causes mental and genetic effects. Marijuana changes a persons DNA, therefore a heavy pothead could produce a child with mental, physical, and/or developmental disorders, where a 2 pack a day cigarette smoker may only produce a child with a weakened immune system and athsma. I hope I helped.

Hardly! Sure, both are 'smoke' but there are none of the additives present in pot as compared to commercially produced cigarettes. I can't recall any weed dealers bragging on adding cianide to their product, and added fillers like stems and seeds are frowned upon as well.

Cigarettes contain over 600 ingredients, many of them chemicals proven to cause cancer.

Pot doesn't.

And few people smoke 20-40 joints a day.

Yes, but you don't find many people who smoke 20 joints a day

Probably worse because there is more tar present than in tobacco. Also, if you use rolling papers, you will get the same toxic substances that are in cigarette papers because it is the same paper.

Puff for puff it's more. You inhale deeper, no filter.
Check the tar in your pipe. That stuff clings right to your lungs.
