So I quit smoking like... not even two days ago. Hahah. But I think I really might quit this time. Today I've had a nasty persistent cough and chest congestion. Is that a coincedence? It seems too soon for anything to happen yet. How long does it typically take for the lungs to clear out all the sh*t?

And I don't need someone to tell me to see a doctor. I will when I have the time.... I just want to know if anyone had similar symptoms. It's a "little" cough.... nothing big and loud. It's very odd but it's lasting forever even though I'm not sick in the least. Could it be because my heating is on now? Or that I need to vacuum more? Any ideas or things to watch out for?

I have had a lump below my right ear for a few months now- maybe longer, but I noticed it a few months ago- well 3 weeks ago I got a bad cough and congestion- ears plugged- and they are still plugged, and my cough is loose but it is hard to come up- I have no sore throat or anything else and am tired of this cough and congestion in my nose and ears- SO my doc put me on antibiotics and it is day 4- my ears are still plugged so maybe what i have is not just a cold or bacterial infection- however the lump below my ear has gone down a little- it is still there though. They did a cat scan and it came back negative- but the doc wants a second opinion and says if the antibiotics dont work, they will need to do a biopsy on this lump. Does anyone know anything about this? I have never been sick this long- its driving me crazy- and I am starting to think I have something else.

I cough a lot and only bring up a small amount of mucus. i can hear the mucus rumbling on my chest and when i sleep it makes it difficult to breath. My nose is also congested and I can only breath out of one nostril.

Many people at my uni smoke outside the buildings, particularly outside doorways, which is against regulations. I am an asthmatic and I find it hard to avoid cigarette smoke at uni. I have tried going through the uni administration, but so far it has not worked. How do I get people to not smoke at uni, particularly around the buildings and outside doorways?

This used to happen several times a day, now it's only every few days, very sporadic. I cough really hard, things blur, I pass out. I, of course, can't really see it, but I'm told my face turns bright red, my hands clutch and it seems like a siezure. I've seen several doctors, had x-rays - all a long time ago when it started, but it's recently started again.

nose and cold symptoms for about a month. She just started pre-school and the teacher blames it on the exposure to other kids but my pediatrician says she may have enlarged adenoids and prescribed Flixonaise nasal spray every day for 3 weeks. Both pediatrician and ENT specialist say her adenoids may need to be removed--but that I should try the Flixonaise regimen first. Doesn't this sound like too strong a med for a little girl? What are the complications? Is it wise to give my young child a STEROID for so long?
