And I don't need someone to tell me to see a doctor. I will when I have the time.... I just want to know if anyone had similar symptoms. It's a "little" cough.... nothing big and loud. It's very odd but it's lasting forever even though I'm not sick in the least. Could it be because my heating is on now? Or that I need to vacuum more? Any ideas or things to watch out for?

if its just a "little cough" then no. if its like a "barking cough" then yes. if it happened when you are around the same thing or exersizing then yes.
do some research, find out what you think it is.
try going to Webmd.com and type in your symptoms, it will tell you possiblitys, check them out.
if you really think its that bad then go see a docter.

If this is just a dry, itchy, annoying hack, it could be bronchitis which often follows a cold and hangs on forever. Yes, dryness can do it, and so can dust, mold, pet dander and other allergies. If it's a productive cough where you're bringing up a lot of phlegm, and there's other symptoms like sore throat, aches, chills and fever, then you've got an infection and need antibiotics. But it sounds like you need more moisture in the air, maybe an air purifier to get rid of the allergens, and try something OTC to quiet the cough, which is usually worse at night.

Speaking as a person with asthma.......

Yes it is possible that you may have asthma. A person with asthma will continue to cough for up to 6 weeks or more after their cold has ended. If you have never shown any other symptoms of asthma that you know of ask to be refered to an asthma educator for testing.

Before your cough started, did you find you were coughing for no reason when you laughed too much? Or find that extreme temp. changes made you choke and cough? (Like warm house to -0 outside.)

These are all signs of borderline asthma. If you are lucky, all you will need is a puffer of ventolin.

Tha's not asthma. If it were an asthma problem you would not have to ask that question! Sounds more like post-nasal drip from sinuses. Does the cough follow an itchy scratchy need to clear your throat feeling? If so, try putting a (clean) tuna can or soup can filled with water in your registers to increase the moisture in your home, and yes try to keep the dust level down in case allergies are involved. You might want to try OTC saline nasal spray to reduce congestion you don't even realize you have, too. Hope those little tid-bits help some!

Bronchitis will give you a chronic dry cough and it's normally from post nasal drip and not drinking enough liquids to make the mucous think enough to slide down your throat. If your heater is on, you need a humidifier and that will help too. Godloveya.

Depending where you are, this tends to be a tough time of year for allergy sufferers. It may be that you have post-nasal drip which is causing a cough.

If you have no other illnesses perhaps try some benadry...call your doctor first

I have similar symptoms.
My doctor keeps telling me it is sinus infections. Or, stress (go figure).

Do you smoke, it could be that, too...

It is unlikly that it is asthma...not for a constant "little" cough.
