Yesterday I felt something strange, I've been feeling like this for days but last night it was even stranger. It's like my chest is too small for my heart and lungs and I find it harder to breathe. Yesterday it was like when you blow into a balloon and the air forces its way out. I had to breathe faster because I couldn't keep much air inside. Does anyone know why? I used to walk a lot and I've been always at home lately (since last week). Could this lack of exercise be a reason for this? I also noticed that the veins of my hands were thicker than ever these past few days. They get thicker when it's cold but this time they were bigger. Can the two things be related? I'm only 25.

my cheeks were flushed with red, they still are hours later.
I still have a really sore throat, but I'm wondering why my cheeks would be red? I was tested for strep, it came out negative.
Does anyone know if this is common?

I have asthma, wasn't born with it, got it as a child. Now I'm 17.
I'm having severe pain in my back (mostly upper) and chest for a little more than 24 hours. It wasn't severe last night, it just keeps getting worse.
It's been hard to breath all day. I can't go to the doc, it's almost 4 in the morning and I don't want to wake my parents. I was coughing for two days so far, but now it hurts my diaphram when I do, so I can't anymore.
I get cold then hot. Also dizzy sometimes.

Can someone tell me whats wrong, and what I can do?

I've had an excessive mucus cough and a runny nose for awhile now. Sometimes I have coughing fits that continue for awhile. Also, often times I feel like I'm getting better and the symptoms are going away, but they come back. I drink plenty of fluids and take Robitussin. I also use cough drops.

Plus, my left ear feels plugged up. Everything sounds muted from that ear. Could this be an ear infection? If so, how should I proceed?

What do you think is the best thing I should do? Ugh, I am so ready for this cold to be over. =(

I'm not asking what causes it, like smoking, illness, allergies, etc. I'm asking about the scientific process of its manufacture in medical terms. Any resource links would be appreciated. Thanks!

I get this sensation where I feel my nose, around the bump of the nose, is pushing forward and forward. It used to only happen at night when I went to bed, but now it happens during the day too. i has been going on for less a year. I been to a doctor and he checked for polyps and said it wasn't polyp but didn't know what else it was.

The shape of my nose is thin and sharp and since the I started to get preasure of nose moving forward, my nose is a lot bigger. The place of this feeling that I have is right on the nasal bone, not below the nasal bone which is cartilage. I used nasal afrin, nasal spray wash and nosonex but didn't work.

I can't figure out what the problem is. I don't know if its related to mucous, cause I sometimes have mucous in the back of my mouth and I have like white tongue.

Can anyone tell me what this problem is and what I should do to get rid of it because its extremely irritating.
By the way, I am 21 years old

Every time I get sick I end up with bronchitis and it takes me weeks to get over it. This started about 6 years ago when I moved. I'm told that more people who live in this area develop Asthma, pneumonia and other respiratory complications. Has anyone heard of where you live being a factor in whether or not you get bronchitis? I won't be moving from here for about 11 more months. My daughter also ends up developing bronchitis sometimes, and it takes her a few weeks to get back in shape for her dance and karate classes. Does anyone know a way to prevent bronchitis? Or a good way to treat it and get rid of it faster? Thanks in advance.

I smoke very sparatically , usually 1-2 cigarettes a month. Can this turn my lungs black? Yes I know its bad for you but I was just wondering HOW bad if it's not done very often.

i live in an apartment complex that isn't non-smoking, but the person next door, i can smell the smoke in my kitchen, and this crap is bothering my breathing to the point where its affecting my sleep, and making it so i have to fight for air. my lease is up this febuary the 28th and i have to let them know within ONE day if im moving or not, i've been looking all month. i can't find a good apartment, and i'm running so low on time or i gotta sign another six months. i absolutely CAN'T stay here another six months and this is friggin ridiculous. this should be illegal, because i already know i have allergies, no asthma, and i'm suffering like an asthma patient with tons of buildup in my ears, my eyes burning, ect.

For the past couple of weeks I have noticed some problems with my breathing. They are not usually bad but occassionally they hit me for an instance with some dizziness (this has happened twice for a second or so in two weeks). Most of the time my breathing is fine but from time to time my breathing fells like there is a gurgling when I breathe in and out. I also cough from time to time when these gurling instances occur. I went to a doctor to check it out and he gave me a chest x-ray and said my lungs looked fine. He then gave me an inhaler to use just in case. Does this sound serious to anyone? Does anyone have a similar symptom? This problem doesnt really worry me except for the fact that I have become suddenly dizzy a couple of times....

Apart from the loud snoring, followed by a period of no breathing, when he starts breathing again his whole body shakes quite violently. This is continuous throughout the night. He goes to sleep as soon as his head hits the pillow, doesn't wake until the next morning and nothing seems to disturb him during the night (e.g. if I put the light on or get out of bed to go to the bathroom). I don't want to suggest anything to him until I am more sure of the facts.

Let me preface this question. I have a cousin who's child has Cystic Fibrosis. CF is a genetic disorder in that both parents must be carriers in order for the child to develop the disease.

At this time, there is no cure for CF. My cousin does well considering the beast this disease is. She is 7, has been in and out of hospitals, and has even had to have her right lung re-inflated after it collapsed last year.

She will not have children, and will likely not see her 30's. Though the life expectancy has gotten higher for the CF children, it is still a terminal illness. And a very harsh, painful one.

They want to have another. They considered adoption, but are likely going to try to have another of their own.

I am torn here. I want desperately for her & her husband to be happy. But I also don't want to see another child born with a life sentence.

I know that seems harsh, but if you could see the pain that my little cousin sometimes has to endure you'd understand.

i went to the hospital like 3 times for this and they took xray blood tests....everything but a catscan and i came back as "normal" i went to a doctor and he said it's probably bad allergies, but heres the thing.. i'm not sneezing. my problem is i feel like somethings pressing down on my chest and i can't get full breaths. it's worse late night early morning. other than this i also have phlegm in the throat, and slightly burning eyes, and a slight headache, but nasal spray for post nasal drip do NOTHING. allergy pills did NOTHING. the doctor told me i wasnt wheezing so it's probably not asthma, but i'm not sneezing and it only seems to half resemble asthma. it's driving me pretty nuts (although it's not stress i assure you) but it feels just like someones pressing down on my chest and my breathings limited. it's especially bad right now probably at 50% yet the hospital/doctors found nothing. any idea what it could be? i dusted my whole house and i haven't the slightest clue.
