there is a spot/nerve thing in your back (around both shoulders) and whenever i get the hiccups, i have someone push (not too hard) on that nerve, it gets them to stop.

My sister has gotten hiccups often for her whole life. This is the only thing that worked for her. Get a cup of room temperature water, place a paper towel or napkin over the cup, then drink the water through the paper towel. Some friends told her to try this and it worked and to date it's the only thing that ever has worked to stop her hiccups.

The only time I distinctly remember getting rid of my hiccups was when I had been hiccuping for about 5 minutes, and then my friend jabbed me in the side. I'm very ticklish, and I screamed so loud the entire school bus fell silent. !

All you have to do is take a deep breath then with out releasing any air take another deep breath. Keep doing this till you can't possibly take in any more "you have to completely expand your rib cage and diaphragm". Then exhale and reverse the process so you continue to exhale with out taking any air in " this is not easy to do but if done correctly your hiccups will be gone.

I fill a plastic cup 1/2 full of water. I bend down and drink out of the wrong side of the cup. It gets rid of them everytime for me. I heard about this about 10 years ago and have used it since.
