This was a compliment years ago. It meant you were of aristocratic origins. The saying came about because the blue bloods would be in doors while the commoners were outside. The blue bloods would become very pale and you could see their veins. This was attributed to their royal roots and not a lack of tanning.

I wonder if you mean a rhesus baby. The term blue baby used to be applied when a baby was born of a mother who was 'O' negative blood group Rhesus blood. Where second and consecutive baby used to have their blood changed at birth if they were antibodies present in the babies blood. Known as Blue Blood.

"Blue Blood" is an expression that means you have been born into an aristocratic family, it doesn't neccessarily mean your'e wealthy.

In fact, we all have blue blood, it's only when blood is exposed to oxygen that it turns red, thats why your veins are blue.
