Clearing my throat doesn't help, taking Mucinex doesn't help either. The same thing happened last winter. Drinking lots of water helps to alleviate it, but not much. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on and how I can stop the discomfort this is causing? I also cannot sleep through the night because I wake up choking.

I had asthma when I was a kid and now I don't. Will it come back later in life or will it disappear forever? My asthma wasn't that serious. I didn't even carry an inhaler around but my dad takes me to the hospital once a week for nebulizer.

I like to know how strong and attack might be before calling it an asthma attack, or is it that there are many types of asthma attack, is it different for anyone? I say this because after my first full asthma attack, with wheezing and chest spasms where I stayed in hospital for 4 days, I have never had a similar one, it's been 4 years I am taking my preventer and apart from some wheezing when I have a cold I never come back to hospital so far, is wheezing an asthma attack?

i was sleeping, and my girlfriend woke me up and asked me why i was shaking. i realized my heart was beating way too fast. i started to panic. went to the hospital, had an EKG, and some chest X-rays. everything came back normal, they prescribed me Ativan.

this is the 6th day since then, and i've been back to the hospital twice, my heart will not calm... and of course the axietysteps in next. does anyone know what i can do. i have not had one peaceful moment. no exaggeration. because of the Ativan, i have trouble breathing when i sleep, and wake up to rapid heartbeat, im always shaking. and always clammy. i do the breathe through the nose thing, as well as shutting the mouth. however, nothing seems to be working. can someone please advise some helpful tactics.

I love the fact that I don't smoke anymore but I will be having some drinks and for me...drinking and smoking always went hand in hand. Also, the people I will be with are all smokers! Gimmie all the low down facts of why I quit smoking! I need it right now so I can remember later on when I get the urge!!!!!!!

I have recently been diagnosed with asthma. I have gotten different opinions....one doctor says asthma and the other sayd allergies. However, the medicine I am on doesn't seem to be working. I believe I am getting panic attacks because I am an extremely nervious person and I also fit into all of the symptoms. Is there anything I can get or do to be helped?
