Girl, I understand. Im not a smoker but I am on a diet and to me going out with friends, means socializing, which 99% of the time involve delicious unhealthy food. Anyway, enough about that. What I do is think about my health, how I want to prolong my life by eating better. Think about how you dont want to end up on oxygen, just to survive. Or worse, end up with a hole in your neck in order to breathe normally. Its not worth it girl. Im a nurse and, its sad to see so many people die, related to the complications of smoking. Try a stick of gum and drink some water, that might help that urge. Its stupid, I know but its less destructive.
I wish you the best.

Just take it for a hour at a time. Tell youself 'I will not smoke for the next hour.' Then when that has passed feel good about your success and aim for another hour. And step by step you'll make it. Tell the others you are with that you are not smoking. Peer pressure perseived will slow you down and also add to your feeling of accomplishment. Hang in there. And by the way...the drug Chantix has helped alot of my patients. It can make it easier. Be proud of yourself that you are facing this tremendous effort and you are making it. Don't picture yourself smoking or thinking about smoking. If you catch yourself doing that.switch quickly to picturing yourself as a nonsmoker. How it feels to be successful over an addiction, and how much longer you'll live. Picture your children as adults....and what thier lives might be like if you were gone or disabled.Tell somone that you are getting an urge and you need a boost. Even if a friend is a smoker, if they are a friend they will help.

because it will prolong your life....you won't have old wrinkled skin...until your old...your breathe and clothes won't stink and you won't wind up with thick tar in your lungs and live on oxygen at a young age and that is just a few examples

Because you love yourself and want to be healthy. Because you don't want to stink like smokers do. Because you are brave and smart.
