I have had a cold/bad cough since Tuesday of this week. I have coughed alot and it is not as bad as it was, but I have got a pain in my back and shoulder and when I cough it gets worse sometimes. Have I just strained everything from coughing?

Oh Yes! It's Happened to Me. A Couple of Years ago, I not only had the Back Pain from Coughing So Much, I also started Coughing Up Blood.

Sore From Coughing

I know what you are going through because at the moment I am the same.I started with a sore throat last week on Wednesday and it has turned to a bad cough which will not go away. My back and chest also hurts loads especially when at night the cough will not stop. It's probably of the coughing that our shoulder and back hurts nothing to worry about. Hopefully it will get better.

it sure sounds like it! sometimes with a cold I cough so much my head hurts with each cough.. my dad just got over the Hundred Day Cough that was going around this winter and he had a lot of soreness in his chest, etc from all the coughing (not to mention stomach aches from the all the cough drops that didn't work! HA!) Poor you... I hope you feel better soon!

It's quite possible to pull a muscle coughing. In fact, it's even possible for an otherwise healthy person to crack a rib from coughing! I know because I did it just a few years ago (I'm in my thirties, so it's not like I'm old and frail or anything). If your cough is that bad, though, you should probably go to the doctor to have him/her listen to your lungs and make sure it's just a cold and not bronchitis (that's what I had when I cracked my rib).

I cured my sciatica with this natural treatment https://tinyurl.im/stop-sciatica-now
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication

I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.

I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

HEY! your problem is pretty simple..here's an effective advice, from a person who survived in a mountainous province with no medicine available: find some empty bottles with caps, fill them with hot water..put it on the area where it aches when you cough..those aches are excess oxygen inside your body..warming them up will make you sweat and relax the pain.. also, your cough and colds are due to sudden weather changes, try drinking lots of water - at least 8 glasses a day - and eat lots of fruits rich in Vitamin C.. when you feel like your gonna vomit anytime, instead of drinking hot water, try drinking cold water..hot water will boil everything inside and may cause vomiting whereas cold water will relax the motion inside your stomach.. hope these things will help you..good luck.. :)
