I think you need to be a little more specific...Are you talking about the psychological damage that it can to to their loved ones?

Death is the major one. But, what about hte person who is unsucessful (fortunately). There could be a very positive effect of finially receiving the help they need. Suicide is NEVER the answer. There are people who care enough to help. Plus consider the effects of the people left behind. If the suicidal person is considering suicide as a way to get revenge on someone by making them feel "sorry" for their actions it is somewhat pointless. You would never know they were sorry. You would never actually exact your revenge. It would be much better to work out your differences with the people and tell them how their actions EFFECT you.

Having lost my grandson to suicide I can personally tell you that it will be my most horrible grief the rest of my life no matter how long I live. Watching my daughter, his mother, go thru the loss of her son is something I hope never hope to see again. We had no idea he was in that depression and had a very close relationship with his mom until up to that one time....then it was over for hiim forever.
If you are considering this, please seek help, and think of ones that love you that you may not even realize.

The major effect is a corpse. Some side effects might be smell and rigor mortis.
