I have a friend that swears she donated part of her kidney to her younger sister who had some renal complications around ~ 3 years old (ultimately it was a urethral malformation and not a renal insufficiency/failure problem but I don't think that matters). The donor was 14 years old at the time of "donation" and she claims that she has 1 and a half kidneys left. I cannot find ANYWHERE, that says that there is a such thing as a partial kidney donor. I am a doctor, prove me wrong. It is my understanding that the kidney will necrose upon partial removal as the majority of the kidney does not regenerate (only renal tubular epithelium).

Hi... I suffer from anxiety/panic disorder. I have had a cold 3 weeks ago, felt better and now I'm sick again. I saw my doctor and he said it is just going around. However when I looked on the internet a cold of more than a week can lead mean cancer. I am now panicing that the doctors missed something. Also I am on Zinthromax (antibiotic) and I feel really dizzy which isn't helping. Is this just another symptom of my panic? I feel so helpless. Please cheer me up or help.

I was told you pick one string out of your head at a time because you like the way it feels, I said there is no such thing I never heard if it. If it is true where can I find information on it.

Starting yesterday, I woke up with an ear fullness. It feels like my ears are congested and there's occasional buzzing in the ears. It's temporarily relieved by popping my ears but it doesn't go away. This morning I woke up with the same thing. I have no other cold or allergy symptoms. What could this be?

Thanks

We have had a T4/TSH to see is there are throid problems. We also had a CBC performed. Both were within normal range. His has been on Otomax, Animax and Baytril. We started with outer ear infections. They go away then come back in a couple months. When the myringotomy was performed and the fluid was analyzed it was a milky fluid with debri in it. They thought it would be a bacterial infection, but is wasn't. We have had several ear swab cytology done. Now we have progressed to the inner ear. If the first myringotomy didn't work why will the second one? We are wondering is he is being treating for the symptom or the problem. Don't we need to find out why he is having ear infections. Last summer we also struggled with hot spots. We are wondering if this could all be allergy related. We have changed his food to natural choice for sensitive stomachs. We also use Benadryl for the hot spots and have not had any more problems with that. To date we have spent over $3000. Help!

I was wondering if anyone here ever had one, how was it affecting your body, how'd you get rid of it, and how do you feel now that its gone?

I think I may have had a tape worm for a majority of my life, after looking at the symptoms.

I have nasal polyp for 2 years. My sense of smell has almost gone. Doctor told me I have to go for FESS surgery to remove the polyp. The ENT Doctor also told me during surgery there is a small possibility of complication like damage to optic nerve and cerebrospinal fluid leakage. I want to choose the best doctor for my FESS surgery. Which ENT doctor has more experience and skillful at performing the FESS surgery? Doctor Po is an ENT consultant with the following credentials { MB ChB, FRCS (Edin), FRCS (Glasg), MD (UK), FAMS, FAAO-HNS (US)}(ENT / Head & Neck Surgery, Snoring and Sleep Apnoea, Medicine/Surgery). Doctor Ong is a ENT consultant with the following credentials {MBBS, FRCS (Edin), FRCS (Glasg), FAMS, FAAO-HNS (US)} (ENT / Head & Neck Surgery, Rhinology, Allergy, FES surgery). Doctor Ku is an ENT consultant with the following credentials {MBBS, FRCS (Edin), FAMS }( ENT / Head & Neck Surgery, Head and Neck Cancer, Voice Disorders, FES Surgery). So Which Doctor is more experience and skillful in performing the surgery. Is it Doctor Po, Ong or Ku. The skill of the doctor is important in performing the FESS surgery because complications of FESS Incidence depends on experience of the surgeons.

My boyfriend has sleep apnea and rarely seems interested in sex. Can it really have this profound of an effect on a person's sex drive. I have tried to be patient but sometimes I feel like he is just plain lazy and uncaring. Am I really that selfish or is sleep apnea really that bad for men?

Does anyone know a friend or relative, that is a vegeterian, and is bold.

Was he always vegeterian?

I am only talking about natural hair loss, not cancer victims (may they recover from this damned illness) or anything else.

Thanks a lot to you all for your replies in advance!

About 3 years ago I had some dental work and I [later found out] caused 2 abscess teeth. I have not had insurance and did not get this looked at until a few months ago. I ended up having a root canal on one of my teeth and now it is discolored. I have heard of discoloration after a while, but never this soon. I positioned some mirrors so I could see behind my tooth and the center of it is all dark!! Is this normal? I am going back to see my dentist but I have found most dentists to be rude and dance around questions. I have always had dental problems that pertain to health thanks to good ole mom and dad. I have straight teeth and have always taken care of them other than that.

So does this mean my root canal failed? I have no pain...What will happen if this root canal did fail? I need some comfort soon, my appointment isnt until the 28th!

Thanks

I am 55 and in good health. I have 2 fully functioning kidneys back to back on my left side, and one fully functioning on my right. All the "lines" are present and of course they all feed into my bladder. As I grow older will there be problems or should I "donate" one? If so can it be one of those back to back ones? For additional info I have O+ blood.

The twitching usually occurs late in the afternoon and before bedtime. There is no pain associated with the twitching. It is a very fast twitch. It is very noticeable and my husband has noticed the twitching. I can also see the twitching by looking down towards my cheek and I have been having migraines lately near my left eye.
