what does a Doctor do when he dont know what is wrong with someone that is sick ??

What does the Doctors do when they tell you it is a mystery and they dont know the answer ? we look at Doctors like they DO know everything.

Generally,they will take many tests ruling out things as they go along. Many illnesses have the same symptoms,but maybe at different levels,so they have to narrow it down based on what the patient is saying and the tests that are done.

A doctor will get frustrated and say its all in your head. I had this happen to me. I had a rare skin condition. I was sent to three different dermatologist and was told there was nothing wrong with me. They could not explain my burning skin pain. My doctor then said it was anxiety and insisted that I go see a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist saw me and wrote the doctor back saying that I was not "depressed or anxious" and that he too witnessed strange rashes on my legs and arms, but were now normal. I begged my doctor to send me to a fourth dermatologist, a very old guy who was well beyond retirement. He knew right aways what I had. He said in 40 years he had never came across a case. He took a biopsy of my "normal" looking skin and confirmed it. But do you know how many times I was accused of being a hypochondriac and what it did to my self esteem. One doctor even went so far to accuse me of insurance scam. If a doctor doesn't know, he should say so and keep his mouth shut and not attack the character of the patient.
