Maybe someone can give me some insight on this issue. I'm wondering if blood tests can detect viruses. I know they can pick up HIV/Aids but what about others? I'm asking because i was extremely sick for 2 weeks and had gone to the hospital 5 times. They checked my heart (ECG) did the routine blood work and everything came back ok. I know I was not having panic attacks because I was sick felt like I had Mono or the flu and was dizzy, sweating from my palms and underneath my arms, also was extremely weak couldn't take a shower even, breathing was laboured. My body was also turning ice cold and shaky throughout the day and I was losing my appetite. I finally after exhausting the hospital route and feeling like I was getting even sicker went to a Natropathic Dr. who said my liver was affected and I had a virus aswell he gave me something for my Autonomic nervous system, liver and to clear the virus. I started stabalizing a bit but I was wondering how the hospital missed the problem?

I was in a weird car accident where I was dragged by a truck on the side of my face when I was about 8 or 9 years old. The fainting didn't start till after that when I see blood. Well, about 2 weeks ago I was watching that show House and fainted- but there was no blood. I have never done that before- its got me bugging real bad. Its super embarrasing and I don't like how worried it makes my family and friends. I want to know why I do it and maybe I can try and get myself to stop. It sux. My head starts getting fuzy, I hear a weird "ringing" then things start going black & white then I wake up a few later. :(

Hi, I have a back/neck injury and I get hiccups ALL the time (like 15-20 times a day), and I'm wondering if it could it be related. I was diagnosed with brachial and cervical plexus neuralgia; my hands have myoclonic twitching, I have pain down my arms, in my chest, and my upper back, headaches, etc. The muscles in my upper body have also fibrosed and all my doctors say that they are the hardest muscles they've ever felt! I read the other day that the pneumogastric nerve is responsible for hiccups in most cases, and since that's right in the area where I got my injury, could that be the cause? The hiccups last for about 3-5 minutes at a time, and like I said, they happen MANY times a day.

If it could be related:

I was just prescribed Zonegran (zonisamide) for the nerve pain... if the hiccups could be related to the nerve problems, it is possible that the Zonegran would help with that? Thanks so much!

3 days ago I woke up and my elbow was sore when i would bend it... later that day I noticed there was some sort of lump inside of it when i would push down. The next morning i woke up and the lump was bigger and a little red bump was showing on the outside of my skin, kind of looks like a mosquito bite but bigger. I figured a spider bit me and thought nothing of it. Later that day there was a big purple circle around the lump and my arm was really sore. Then the next day I noticed it was all swollen and my arm from my elbow down was starting to fall asleep a lot. Theres a lot of juicy type stuff aorund the lump on the inside that i can feel when i move it around. What do you think this is? I figure if it gets worse tomorrow I will go get it looked at but I thought I would get your opinion.

Also I never injured it, I just woke up one morning that way.

One of my College classes, we were assigned to attend 2 A.A meetings. I actually was only able to attend 1 A.A meeting because of the lack of programs in my area.

Anyway! I was just curious to know how you feel about Alcoholics Anonymous? Or the 12 step process? Or how do you feel about Alcoholism being a disese?

Sorry so many questions, it's for a paper!
Thanks bunches!

I haven't had an attack in nearly five years, and I try to watch what I eat- but my wife and I have been caregivers for her father, who has cancer. We've been having to grab a lot of fast food, plus have been eating a lot of rich food prepared by well-meaning relatives.

During the night I coughed up blood, mixed with plem, serveral times It is now Sunday morning, temp is 99, but am still having slight nose bleeds, and am still coughing up blood.
