I'm confused about the T4...what does that indicate?

The T4 just indicates the area of the spine that was damaged. It is at the level of the 4th thoracic vertebrae. The spine is divided into sections -the cervical is in the neck region, the thoracic is the chest region and the lumbar is the lower back. Hope this helps.

paraplegic means the person can't use half of their limbs, usually the legs, T4 refers to where the injury is. In this case it is Thoracic vertebrae number four. There are 3 sections of vertebrae Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar. Each place up the spine helps to move certain partsof the body, so if you are injured in one of the vertebrae, then you will be paralized from that point down according to which part the vertebrae refers to. for instance, far up enough , lkike in the cervical vertebrae, you will be a quadraplegic and won't be able to use arms or legs. hope this makes sense

The T4 refers to 4TH Thorasic vertebrae which is the 11th vertebrae down from the top of the spine. There are 7 cervical (upper neck) 12 thorasic (middle back) and 5 lumbar (lower back).
