I went out at lunch to run errands. The rain was much heavier towards the end of running my errands. I looked like a drenched rat. I am ok, now, but wandering how likely I will get sick from this fiasco! lol

Have a great week everyone! :-)

On Saturday morning I was lazing around reading the papers with my girlfriend. In the Guardian is a column by Jon Ronson which I normally quite enjoy. My girlfriend had the magazine it was in and mentioned this weeks column was definitely worth reading. Half an hour later she said she was feeling ill but we decided she had a hangover. An hour later I read Jon Ronson and found it was about he and his son both had an attack of stomach flu at the same time. Another half an hour later I felt queasy. An hour later we were both really ill and vomiting up our breakfast. Now I know it sounds far fetched, but there are things we don't know about science.

I have a sore throat, redness, pus pockets on the back of my throat, tonsils and on the palate (roof of the mouth), NO fever...The dr. gave me antibiotics for amoxicillin and said that after a rapid strep test, it was NOT strep. Been two days and the medicine is seeming to help with the soreness, but it looks like there are more pus pockets. I'm just curious if anyone knows what it could be?

Tonsillitis? Acute Sinusitis? Could it be an STD (syphilis, etc), I don't think so because I have no other syptoms of such...

thanks for the answers

I don't really have chicken pox but I'm doing a research on it. The word chicken pox makes me think of rubber chickens.Ok, how did it get it's name?Is it when you get reddish spotts on you?I know I didn't stick to the topic but it's still about chicken pox. So basicly I want to know about chicken pox. So feel free too tell me anything about chicken pox.

I mean, laptops do get hot after a long time, and it's on my lap the whole time. It...Just makes me wonder...and worry. Because a lot of people say so, that you shouldn't, it could get you cancer or something, but lately it was the same thing with cellphones. However, people discovered that cellphones DO NOT make you get diseases. Is it the same???

She was taken ill with pneumoccocal meningitis over a week ago - fortunately I realised she was seriously ill and got her treated before septecaemia could develop. She has been given a week of IV antibiotics and is now being monitored at home. My question is how long do children take to recuperate after a serious illness like this, is there anything more I can do for her than just provide as much food, snacks, drinks, TV, games, books, etc.
Please don't answer me with lots of information about meningitis - I understand the condition - what I need advice on is convalescence.

Thankyou to all those who took time to consider their answers with tact and real thought.
