Can anyone tell me what pneumonia in the lungs look like please? My Mom found out the she has a spot in her right lung and basicly it look like it has tree branches? Could it be pneumonia? My Mom is scare right now.

It's normal for your lungs to look like they have tree branches because that's how they're made. Your windpipe, or trachea, goes down into your chest where it branches into two brochi and to each lung. From there it divides again and again, from the major bronchi, to bronchioles, to microscopic alveoli. It really does appear similar to a tree, branching from large branches to smaller and smaller ones.

As far as the spot, she would have to ask the doctor, because only a doctor would know. There are many many things that can show up in an X-ray or CT scan, and they'd be unidentifiable to anyone who wasn't properly trained.

Tell your mom not to worry... just go back to the doctor and clarify any questions she has. Best wishes!!!
