Is it possible (in some cases) for HIV AIDS to show symptoms after 15 years of infection? I heard this from a friend but I think it is a lie. I believe it will be 6 months not 15 years. Who agrees?

At least once a month. It always starts in the corner of one of my eyes....It gets a little sore when i move it around and a little red (just in that corner). Some times it gets no worse then that but more times then not the redness spreads through out the eye and the pain is horrible. Once it was in BOTH my eyes and it was not fun. Could this be something OTHER then pink eye since it keeps reoccurring ??

I've had the runs for 4 days now, since Monday morning. I figured I had the flu, and I vomited Tuesday night but that was it. I'm going to the bathroom every 10-20 minutes....I can tell I still have "the bug" because I'm still queasy. I've been sleeping on and off an hour or so at a time. My fever was 101.4 but has slowly been going down. I'm drinking clear Powerade. Should I be worried or is this just an extended flu??

I was diagnosed with deformed white cells five years ago. White cells are an important part of your immune system. Due to the deformity I get sick easy, and in December had hernia surgery and went into septic shock and almost died. In fact the Dr. told me later he didn't expect me to make it at all. He said my immune system reacted like and AIDS patient, but I do not have HIV, AIDS, or any other illness other then deformed white cells. So it was assumed that my deformed cells is what shut my lungs down and why I lost my blood pressure. Because when they clipped into the infected tissue the infection flooded my blood stream and I quit breathing and my blood pressure went way to low. I woke up on a ventilator, and am trying to find out why this happened because till now we thought it was due to the deformed white cells, but now the white cells are normal. Happy that they are normal, I am terrified at why I almost died during a normal procedure? Anyone know?

My friend’s daughter has a slight fever. Her mom thinks that putting whole lemons in the girl’s socks will reduce the fever. I’m looking for scientific evidence about why the does or does not work?

I'm always cautious about this, but can you get HIV by letting someone wear your gym clothes. I've recently heard that you can. I mean this is NOT from a reliable source like CDC, but from a middle class person. I'm extremely uneducated about HIV. I've also heard you can get HIV from dried blood. I heard that if you just touch dried blood the germs transfer to your hands and if you touch your eyes you will become infected. The reason I ask about this is because we're supposed to write a report on infectious diseases in health class about myths and facts on how the virus can be transferred. I may seem dumb asking these questions but I know nothing about Hiv. It would also help if you gave me other myths about Hiv. Thanks in advance!

I have heard that it affects dogs and it comes from mosqitoes, but i have a few questions about it... first, is it actually a worm, or is that just the name of the disease (kind of like ringworm?) and also, can people and other animals get it as well? What are the chances that a dog with heart worm will die from it? (no i a do not have a dog with heartworm, i am just curious.)

I've had a fever for 3 days now, peaking 103 wednesday night (almost went to the ER but tried motrin, slight cool bath, and cool ice packs on neck/forehead..that brought it down)..However when I went to the doctor wednesday, he wasn't sure what I had..My only symptom is a fever that goes up and down, other than that i seldomly feel a bit of nausea. I had an ear infection for a few months now that didnt clear up with medicine, but the doctor said it should cure itself, and I did have a flu shot in early fall; also, there was a GI bug going around at my work, but I don't have diahria, and I haven't thrown up...Anyone have this illness? How long did it last? I'm so sick of laying in bed!
