I am currently almost over a cold I had, and am taking an antibodtic to help fight it off. I've heard some people say that antibodtics (pills) help prevent your current cold from spreading, while I've heard others say they help prevent you from also catching other colds while you are on them. Which is true? Which is false? Thanks in advance for the answers. Please provide articles or links if you can also to back up your answers.

Not sure how common this is..I found 5 little pea size lumps under the skin on my underarm and about 4 days later there was one that had puss coming out of the skin and it was all red around it. then 2 days later i found 2 under my other armpit.I went to the doctors and they put me on an antibiotic. Is this something I will have all my life now? Like little hard very painfull bumps? where else will they spread to?

my wife has MRSA and i recently was diagnosed with it also and when i told my work that i had it they sent me to a doctor then fired me i think they did it because they are scared of me spreading it. is there anything out there that can explain that it is not that easily contagious? and can they legally fire me? i have 3 kids and couldn't afford to lose my job but i did. any information that could help me get my job back or maybe file a lawsuit would be great. thanks, chris

My dog has been bathed, treated, scrubbed and medicated and yet nothing is helping getting rid of these fleas (I take that is waht they are). He is in terrible health so I am not sure if it is because he has three paws in the grave and one a banana peel or that it might be some other bug. They look bigger than fleas to me but I am not sure. Thanks for your help.

Several weeks ago I got a flu shot in the UK but I'm now on holiday in the US and am sick with flu-like symptoms. Are the vaccines in the UK and the US the same? Is there any chance that I've caught another strain of the flu?

With all the recent outbreaks of diseases and bugs etc, do you think we are turning ourselves into hygeine freaks, obsessed with cleaning and scared to touch things?
Is it necessary nowadays to be like this? Has the fact we are now so clean beginning to destroy our natural immune system?

I have been with my nephew all week and he has come down with the chickenpox, even though he had the vaccine...so it shouldn't be severe, but I am 33 and have never had them. Am I naturally immune or can I still get them. I have been around a couple of people before with them and never gotten them.

My husband thinks he's coming down with a flu which would mean our son is already exposed. Should I forget about giving him the flu shot? His doctor kept pushing it lst week and I had turned it down. Any advice?? How long does it take for the flu shot to take effect?
