skin test is most reliable since TB can manifest in many different tissues. chest x-ray will reveal TB in the lungs

yes. there is a special position called the lordic position. this is when you stand about a foot in front of the standing x-ray grid and lean back(arched back) against it. this will show the apex (top) of the lungs. this is where TB starts and spreads from, nothing else really collects there. by the degree of non-radiolucent material there, a radiologist would be able to tell.

yes, if it is TB of the respiratory tract.
Of course if the TB is of the bone or the stomach or spleen or anywhere else in the body it chooses to grow, a chest xray won't tell you much.
That is why skin testing is used first.
