Its actually spelled Staph infection short for Staphylococcus. Staph is a kind of bacteria that you get when you have an open cut. Staph can also spreaad from person to person like if you share towels, blankets, or clothing. It depends how you get rid of it. Most of the time you just have to let it heal. You can try to relieve some of the pain by soaking the infected skin in warm water or applying a heating pad for about 20 minutes a few times a day. If you have stye which is a type of staph you usually take medication prescribed by your doctor. But dont worry if you get staph, because it usually isn't so serious.

It is an infection caused by Staphylococcus Aureus or "staph" for short. Staph lives quite happily and normally on human skin, and human beings don't suffer from this at all....however, if there is a break in the skin and the immune system is depressed the "staph" can get inside the body, grow and cause infection. The break in the skin can be as minimal as scratching a bug bite, or severe as a surgical incision. Treatment is with antibiotics to kill the bacterium.

A "staff" infection is a particularly nasty bacterial infection--usually from staphyloccus aureus bacteria. This is actually a fairly common bacteria yet the infections they cause (usually skin infection) can be difficult to treat, often requiring prescription medications rather than over the counter topical ointments.

OOOHHHH that is a heavy -duty infection. You seriously need to see a doctor for some major antibiotics. If staph infection is left untreated it can form pockets of infection around your heart or even in and around your brain.
Interestingly, staph infection lives on your skin.
