A debate over whether Schumi has the lowest standing heartrate has sparked this question. Looking to find out who that person would be and what the standing heartrate is.
Thanks,

Okay, Im kinda worried. This has never happened while im standing, atleast not that i recall, but when im sitting or lying down, (usually in the evening, but sometimes in the late afternoon) my heart starts punding really hard. It lasts for about 5 seconds top, and it doesnt really hurt. I just can feel my heat pound really strong for a couple seconds.

My dad doesnt know what it is, and nor do I. Im 16 and I just dought whatevers going on is heathy.

My heart does this weird skipping beat thingy every once in awhile.... I notice it more if I've drank coffee. Anyway, it feels pretty weird and I've even seen a cardiologist who couldn't find anything wrong. Is it dangerous if my heart does this several times in one day??? Is it weakening my heart or anything?

Are there National Guidelines that Medical Professionals are supposed to follow? An example is, a person goes to the Doctor with a strong Cough, Tightness in the Chest, and Shortness of Breath. During the Doctors exam the Doctor says he hears a rattle in the Chest which indicates fluid build-up. But he does not order Chest X-rays. Are there any guidelines that say Chest X-rays should have been taken? and before you tell me to get another opinion. it's too late. the patient passed away 2 days later of congestive Heart Failure?

It is my understanding that steroids used in high doses can cause permanent damage to the heart. I'd like more detailed info about that. Also want to know if high dose steroid use can damage the lungs as well, with detailed info. This can be related to anyone in general, or if more specific sources available, a young, otherwise healthy male (20 years old). Thank you for your help with this troubling question!

I am on the phone w/ a friend who's family member died a sudden death 4yrs ago. She died at 36yo. 1 week before she had blacked out. Her autopsy results were inconclusive. Is there any chance this could be LQTS? Or another arrhythmia?
