It is my understanding that steroids used in high doses can cause permanent damage to the heart. I'd like more detailed info about that. Also want to know if high dose steroid use can damage the lungs as well, with detailed info. This can be related to anyone in general, or if more specific sources available, a young, otherwise healthy male (20 years old). Thank you for your help with this troubling question!

steroid use,, in high doses can cause Cushing's disease. I have used them for years for severe asthma and between the ages of 21 and 28 have had two pituitary tumors removed. They cause swelling, high blood pressure, diabetes, low blood potassium...etc..Some doctors tell me they are what caused my tumors, some say its just a freak occurrence. After 2 brain surgeries, I wouldn't want to take my chances!
