I posted a question earlier. Thanks for your response.
I got diagnosed for FBS 130,three months back. From then,I am using ayurvedic medicine.Blood Sugar has come down. After three months,I got Hb1Ac test done and the result is 5.2%(Non-diabetic).I am slim(underweight),has good lifestyle.Parents are diabetic at the age of 50.I am 27 now.

I want to know if Hb1Ac test shows really shows if I am diabetic or because I was using ayurvedic medicine for the past three months, the results does not show exactly if I am diabetic.

My Symptoms:

Extreme tiredness only.

Please suggest.

. My daughter went in for a 5 hr blood sugar GTT test and the bill comes out to $1336.70!!! When I went with her they said my part would be $192.00.(Have Insurance) Now they send me a bill for $336.14. I ask for an itemize bill. on it they have CBC w/auto diff -- Comprehensive metabolic panel==T4 Thyroxine==T3 Uptake==Thyroid Stimulating Hormone==Vitamin B-12== Folate== along with the fasting blood sugar 5hr GTT down for 5 times and then Venipuncture
Now how can this be??? They only drew her blood 5 times and was just suppose to be checking for sugar!! It seems the diagnostic clinic which I am getting a bill from the Hospital is trying to really screw me. She also had to take a tilt table test and passed out on it so they refuse to let me take her home and put her in the hospital. Now they are billing me another 301.98 for that. I paid the test cause I thought that was the hospital bill. So now I refuse to pay the hospital bill till I know what is going on over there!!

My mother recently passed away and now I have to donate or dispose of her diabetic machines and supplies, numerous syringes, adult diapers, and other such items. I would love to be able to donate these items to a worthwhile charity. If not, I need to dispose of them but need to know how to do this as well. I mean, one shouldn't just throw insulin syringes in the trash.

I don't take any medicine for diabetes yet but I am the only family member who doesn't. I'm trying to get my weight down and it's working with exercise and that helps, I'm borderline right now and want to avoid meds or damage from diabetes. I've been testing and the trend line is going down, but sometimes I just don't feel like it for a couple of days and sometimes I only do it once a day. How can I get myself into a regular routine of tests that will better help my doctor see where I am?

I had gestational diabetes for the last 3 months of my pregnancy. I controlled it very well with diet alone and my son was born 2 weeks ago with no complications. I have been checking my blood sugar a few times a day and I have had some high readings when I eat a lot of carbs. Does anyone know if it takes a few weeks for your pancreas to recover from gestational diabetes or does this mean I have the real thing? I am quite distressed about this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How do you all deal with the itchiness of the tape and tegaderms during the hot summer months. Jeez...sometimes it itches SO bad.

When I change my set, I often have to apply cortisone cream to where the old set was. It's red and irritated. That doesn't really happen during the winter months. The actual puncture site is fine...it's where the tape was that's sore and itchy.

Baby oil usually gets off the adhesive that is left on my skin when I pull the tape off. Still, with hot and humid weather...I want to scratch it so badly.

Ideas?

I was diagnosed with diabetes two weeks ago, and I'm taking 50 units of lantus every night at 11pm. Last night an hour after taking my lantus I checked my blood sugar and it was 46 which is way too low, I think they have me on too high of a dose, I'm afraid that at night my blood sugar is going to drop to dangerous levels (I'm not overweight). My next appointment with the doctor isn't until the 20th, any advice is appreciated.
