Will try the salt trick. As far as eating bananas, I don't in the summer cause that causes mosquitos to bite you. The oils in the bananas come out in your skin and attracts mosquitos.

I get the same thing in the mornigs especially when I wake up high in the mornings. I have slight neuropathy in my legs. I would recommend talking to your doc about it. You could have the same thing happening. My neuropathy doesn't seem as bad as long as I stay in control. You might also try drinking more water before you go to bed, it also seems to help with the leg cramps.

Could be caused through nerve damage due to the diabetes ,if it is like cramp you could be lacking in magnesium or sodium,so take some tablets
Check the area for infection etc and see your doctor

Cramps can be a sign of neuropathy (nerve damage) but more commonly is a sign of poor circulation, which is common in diabetics.

This should be evaluated by a physician.

They could be related to your diabetes or you could be having cramps. If relate to diabetes check with your doctor. If cramps be sure to be drinking plenty of fluids and make sure you're getting enough sodium in your foods.

are they like a cramp?I have had that once and the cramps hurt alot.

If its like a cramp it has to do with potassium leaving your cells into your body.

YOU NEED POTASSIUM OR SALT.
PUT A LITTLE SAUCER OF SALT BESIDE YOUR BED AND WHEN YOU HAVE A CRAMP OR PAIN THE PUT A LITTLE SALT UNDER YOUR TONGUE...YOU SHOULD GET IMMEDIATE RELIEF IF YOU NEED SALT.

OTHER WISE START EATING A BANANA A DAY AND SEE IF IT HELPS YOU...

You need to have your potassium level checked.
Low potassium can cause this and your diabetes maybe a factor via your kidneys.
