I had some questions about diabetes (more specifically juvenile diabetes)

1. When taking insilin (prob. spelled wrong), what do they use? An actual needle?

2. What happens if they forget to take the insilin (again, spelled wrong probably)

3. What can't they eat or drink?

There is a new insulin pump out by MiniMed that reads your blood sugar every 5 minutes and alarms when you begin to to past your target range- low or high. Has anyone been able to experience this or know of anyone who has?!

He's in his 20's, weighs close to 300 lbs. Every other couple of days he has a little chocolate, and all of a sudden he begins to regain his energy and his positive attitude. When he goes a couple of days without just a little bit, he begins to get irritable and loses energy. He also feels very fatigued and gets minor headaches. He's a great guy, but I'm worried.

Is it because the body cannot break down the sugar and use it for energy, but I'm confused because wouldn't that mean it gets stored then and not burned up... I always thought diabetes would cause you to gain weight. Please, somebody, explain!

I have been incredibly tired for the past 6 years or so and was diagnosed with chronic Epstein Barr Virus, but was told there wasn't much I could do about it. Now I am wondering if my fatigue could be related to being hyperglycemic or even diabetic. What is the difference between hyperglycemia and diabetes, and is there one test for the both or are they tested separately? I realize a trip to my doctor is in order, I just wanted some background info from people who knew from experience. Thanks!

I cannot walk in the morning or night without crutches and a cane by day. The left foot hurts, burns and feels too painful when pressure is applied and is slightly swollen around the ankle. The left calf muscle aches as well. All I have had is an EMG. neg for neuropathy which I feel questionable about it's ruling. What tests should be taken? What could this be? Soft tissue disorder?

Hi. I'm Wilford Brimley. My diabeetus testin' supplies can help you live a better life.

Diabeetus is a very serious disease. People with diabeetus must constantly monitor their blood sugar level, as their bodies cannot efficiently regulate this by themselves. That's were my diabeetus testing supplies come in.

If you qualify for Medicare, you may be eligible to have diabeetus testin' supplies shipped direct to your door. That way, you don't have to get dressed, get in your car, drive all the way to the store, wait in line and deal with people. God dammit, if there's anything I hate more than high blood sugar, it's dealing with other people. Liberty Medical can help you live a better life.
