IT'S A MYTH THAT DIABETICS CAN NOT HAVE SWEETS! There is nothing that is really off limits. It's about balance. Of course you want the MAJORITY of your diet to be filled with healthy, nutritious foods but there is no reason for you to completely eliminate foods you like. They need to be included, not added, to your meal plan and should be eaten in moderation. See a dietician who can help you come up with a meal plan that you can live with. They can teach you how many carbohydrates you should have per meal and/or snacks and with that knowledge you can subsitute, occassionally, your carb allowance of good for you foods, with something like a cookie or candy bar. Sugar free foods many times are not much lower in carbs than their regular counterpart and are emptying the pocketbooks of people with diabetes who think sugar is their enemy and if they eat the sugar free foods they're eating "right". Most of these sugar free junk foods are just as bad for you as the sugar containing cousins and are probably worse because people are eating MORE of them because they're SUGAR FREE! Diabetes is likely going to be a life long disease. Those who try to deprive themselves are only setting themselves up to fail and will ultimately give up on control all together. I'm not advocating eating unhealthy. Again, it's about BALANCE, eating a diet rich in healthy foods, exercising and maintaining ideal weight...and indulging in something extra delicious at the same time.

There is NOTHING a diabetic can't eat.
Portion control is the only thing we have to be careful about. For example, I can have 20 carbs for lunch - I could choose between 1 chocolate chip cookie, a sandwich, or 6 cups of popcorn.
The days when certain foods were off limits ended years ago (thank goodness, I was 5 when told I had to give up some fruits and all cookies). Good thing that prescription is old and discredited now.
But I am surprised at how often people ask this question on Yahoo.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

So..
My quality of life has improved after reading this ebook about diabetes http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=549
. I don't think I'll be able to reverse my diabetes as they assert, but I found the resource very interesting and also inspiring. It's always good to see things under different perspectives.

Almost ALL junk food is unhelpful.
The best diet also avoids meat, all processed foods, artificial sweeteners, and MSG.
Eat lots of fresh fruit and green-leaved vegetables.
Diabetes
All diabetics have a common fluke parasite, Eurytrema pancreaticum, the pancreatic fluke of cattle, in their own pancreas. It seems likely that we get it from cattle, repeatedly, by eating their meat or dairy products in a raw state. It is not hard to kill with a zapper but because of its infective stages in our food supply we can immediately be reinfected.
Eurytrema will not settle and multiply in our pancreas without the presence of wood alcohol (methanol). Methanol pollution pervades our food supply -- it is found in processed food including bottled water, artificial sweetener, soda pop, baby formula and powdered drinks of all kinds including health food varieties. I presume wood alcohol is used to wash equipment used in manufacturing. If your child has diabetes, use nothing out of a can, package or bottle except regular milk, and no processed foods.

unfortunately all junk food is off limits to a diabetic. Diabetics have to stay away from sugar, which also means stay away from anything that your body converts into sugar such as starches and breads. look on the label for the sugar content and the carbohydrate content. that will tell you if you have to stay away from it or not.

just stay with fruits and raw veggies and don't eat things that might cause you to gain weight.
you need the good foods not junk foods.
try to replace the things you did eat with the better foods you need.
good luck
