Thanks you for all the responses so far. Took advice went to the doc. He thought it might be a cyst put a needle in but was unable to extract anything. He then phoned a specialist sho said i should see him as soon as possible. Apparantly he is going to make a small incision and send away for biopsy. anyone been through this and able to give advice as to what is going to happen. Specialist apparantely told doc that if he does the check etc he will decide how soon it should be removed. Is this normal?

I have so many risk factors for cancer, especially skin cancer. Lately, I have just had a bad feeling that I have cancer somewhere, but I don't necessarily have any symptoms. Has anyone ever heard of someone just feeling like they have cancer, and it turning out to be true?

I had a tumor/cyst removed last Thursday from my elbow. It was the size of a small grape, hard, and dark pink. It was not painful. I discovered it the previous Friday. It was completely removed and I am awaiting biopsy results. Does anyone have any input on what it might be? Also, how long does it usually take biopsy results to come back? Do they call you? Do you have to see a doctor to get results?? Do Pathologists work on weekends? Thank you in advance for your help!!

I basically need a short summary on how the process actually works, because (I'm not a biologist) I'm not able to understand all the scientific vocabulary that is being used.

If there's a medical oncologist reading this, here's the remainder of that CT scan: "A large lytic lesion is seen in the sternum with lobulated soft tissue components in the deep subcutaneous soft tissues as well as in the prevascular space. The soft tissue components appear to infiltrate the adjacent segments of the right pectoral and intercostal muscles. This is accompanied by prominent lymph nodes in the prevascular space, right internal mammary chain and right cardiophrenic space."

They seem to have appeared overnight, are evenly raised, slightly bumpy, and are unevenly colored (ranging from deep brown to lighter freckle-colored).
They are 4.5 cm apart, and the first of the two is larger in size (approximately 4 cm in height and 2 cm in width) and the comparatively smaller of the two is approximately 1.25 cm in height and 1.5 cm in width.
They are located approximately 4 cm below the bottom of his left shoulder blade.
A history of cancer runs on both his maternal and paternal sides of his family, esp. skin cancer (his father, amoung others). He is very fair, but has limited sun exposure. (If only I could convince him to wear sunscreen everyday, and not only when he goes outdoors.... : ) ).
I am sorry to be so long winded, but I am sick with concern.
