It sounds like the normal process of figuring out what the problem is. Try not to worry through the process. The waiting for appointments and test results can be agonizing, but worrying won't solve anything. Try to enjoy life as you normally would, and do the things you would usually do. Share what you are going through with a good friend or a family member who can help you with it.
My daughter had a very similar situation about a year ago. She was 29 at the time. Everything turned out just fine.
Take care.

hi good you made the first step and went to your doc!
my friend has had 4 biopsies over the years and has been fine each time. the whole point in taking a biopsy is to ensure that the cells deep in the breast are ok (some women just have lumpy breasts and this can happen).
She went in and with local anesthetic they removed some breast tissue and then sent itoff for analysis. depending on the size (breadth and depth)of the lump you my have to get a stitch or two. She was sore for a few days like any op but each time healed well. The emotinalside is dificult though, the waiting etc but heres hoping all is well and you will be'right as rain' very soon.
all the best

Great! Glad to hear you went to the Dr. You didn't say where your lump was. My wife found a lump in her breast and had a lumpectomy. It was malignant, so they removed her lymph nodes on that side. There was cancer in three groupings with about 9 lymph nodes involved.
A treatment of chemotherapy and radiation followed and at a regular follow-up visit 4 years later, the cancer was detected in the breast. She had a mastectomy and reconstruction surgery about 10 years ago and it is not expected to return. At the time, her chances were about 60/40 on losing the battle.
The key to cancer survival is early detection. That means self examination and other screenings on a REGULAR basis.
Women age 40 and older should have a base line mammogram and yearly after age 50.

Yes. My Mum had a lump which sounded just like yours. She had the biopsy and the lump was removed without incident within a couple of weeks. The worrying is normal too, it's part of being human.

Yes. It can be nothing or it might be something.
I knew a woman who had a lump, they couldnt needle biopsy it, so they scheduled her for surgery asap (like, 2 days later), she was freaking out big-time---and it turned out to be "tissue of unknown origin". Nothing at all and the dr said it's very common.
She was told to not raise her arm for a few days and not to carry anything heavy/pick stuff up.

Had lump on my shoulder about 3 years ago. Had examination and subsequent biopsy. Yours may well be like my one and absolutely nothing to worry about. Surgeon offered to remove it but we came to agreement that as it wasn't bothering me we would just leave it be. Unless any change in it no further consultations.
The biopsy is fairly painless but will show if lump is anything to worry about -(probably not).
Dont worry.
