That probably has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
There is no reason a bj would cause throat cancer - even if the person you were giving a bj to had testicular cancer, you would not get throat cancer because cancer is not contagious.
I think perhaps you need to start watching a different news channel.

There were some studies that linked oral sex with cancer of the mouth caused by the virus HPV (human papilloma virus), the same virus that causes cervical cancer, and related to the same virus that causes genital warts. The study did say that there are only 10,000 cases of mouth cancer annually in the U.S. (which makes it an uncommon disease).
By the way, there is a vaccine out now that can protect against HPV, but you have to get it before you ever have sex. So if you have never had intercourse , ask your doctor about it. And tell other women about the vaccine.

the act itself can't cause it. the only way that you could possibly get throat cancer from a bj is if you caught an std and left it uncured for years. however, it sounds like a bunch of bunk to me.

This sounds like a hoax. Most newscasts wouldn't talk about this, and I find it hard to believe that somebody actually did a study on it.
Can you provide a link?
