It could be many things, benign tumor, baker's cyst to name a few. Since you didn't have it very long, try not to worry. The elbow is a very common place for cysts same thing with knees. They will call you with the results and results usually take about a week to 10 days. If you don't hear from them by Friday, give them a jingle before the weekend, it might with the holiday though the results might not come in until the following Monday.

I would think that if it was pink it had a good blood supply and most cancerous tumors are black or dark red. My suggestion would be to call the doctors office and ask them if they had the results and be sure to tell them you are a little anxious, they might be able to tell you something. No pathologists do not work weekends unless it is an emergency.

I'm not certain if your blood will be donatable, but I'm sure they will tell you if it's not at the clinic where you would go to donate. Not sure of your financial status, but have you ever been tested for Celiac Disease (it's a pretty simple blood test panel)? It's an auto-immune disease which is genetic and results in your body attacking the gut. This inhibits nutrient absorption and leads to nutrient deficiencies which affect the entire body. Many people with this disease end up having problems with their organs at an earlier age than they should as they become damaged from low nutrient levels, especially the gall bladder, kidneys, and/or liver. Cirrhosis of the liver is one of the issues that can result from this type of damage. 1 in 133 have this. Doctors rarely test for it (average time to diagnosis is 10 years). There are hundreds of symptoms, because it can affect any area of the body. The good news is that there is no medication for this disease, but there is something that sends all symptoms into remission: a gluten free diet. Yeah, the one that's become a fad. :-) Celiac Disease is the only auto-immune disease where doctors discovered WHAT triggers the body to attack itself, and in this case, it is gluten. If a celiac doesn't ingest gluten, their body stops attacking, they start absorbing nutrients, and they heal. One of the few diseases where not having insurance won't keep you from being able to heal your body, thankfully.

The only one who should give you your results is the surgeon who biopsied the lesion unless specific arrangements were made for somebody at the lab to give you the results.
Pathologists do work call and weekends but routine lab studies usually take 3 days to a week to ten days to return, but sometimes longer.
The history you relate is indicative of prompt attention which will minimize any sequela.
Don't rely on guessing what it is. You need a real answer which will come soon.
Normally the physician's office will call you, but it's okay to call them if the waiting becomes protracted.
